On Christmas Day in 2004, a family friend told me I should join 'Pig Footy' and read a 'discussion' where people were calling Paul Chapman an angry little man (and the fact that he had been an angry little man since junior football days).

I nodded in agreement and said I would investigate. Truth be told I did not know what Pig Footy was. I assumed some kind of message board where people could be 'pigs' and insult football players. At some stage over the following days (or weeks, potentially) using Microsoft Internet Explorer (which was the style at the time) I could not locate a Pig Footy of any kind!

The week of April 3rd 2005, schmuttt mentioned BigFooty and that I should join. I remember thinking 'ah, it must be similar to Pig Footy.'

"Is that like Pig Footy?" I asked. schmuttt was not sure but I distinctly remember an odd look upon their face.

Upon doing some additional research on April 10th 2005 using our dial up internet (which was the style at the time) and concluding that I had probably misheard BigFooty as Pig Footy, well - as they say, the rest is history.

I'm not sure who 'they' are - I am just using this term for effect whilst relaying this story to my dear friends on the Melbourne board.
