Totally against Burns retiring unless he wants to make the decision (and then I'd have a go at talking him out of it).
Medders and Bryan are on 2 year contracts so they aren't going anywhere.
No need to promote Wellingham as simply no room on the list.
I would keep Iles, Stanley, Cook and Toovey (offer 1 year contracts).
Nicholls is a line ball but at least he has something to offer (in and under player - just doesn't get enough kicks).

Toovey- should be 100% gone but probably will be kept on because we always persist with these types of players e.g. Ben Kinnear, Tristen Walker
Licuria- time to retire.
Bryan- has to go, no good.

I am hoping, although possibly naively, that Buckley and Wakes go on for another year. In that case, we need to get one more on top of that.
However, if either or both of those go, then that is problem solved.

This is Danny nichols second year on rookie list and there fore must be elevated to senior list or delisted... In my view delisted....

I dont think Toovey is bad at all i would be offering him a one year deal!...We have alot of players like stanley.....

Hiya T.
I haven't seen Danny get 7 goals kicked on him either. Against Robbo, it was 1 on Harry first quarter, 3 on Danny in just over a half and 3 on Tooves in the last quarter. Most recently, I did see him get 27 QUALITY posessions and effective disposals last week for Willie ones amongst other things. He hasn't had a bad game this year since coming back from injury. Toovey's going fine too. Both will be back next year. Danny also just turned 19 this year so he's hardly geriatric. Fact is nearly all the kids who either haven't played yet or only had a few, are prospects and some are real quality. There'll be minimal cutting of kids from the list. Most departures will be from the older players sadly, the players who've been unable to deliver in the past and won't in the future.

Last week we had I think 18,19 Collingwood listed players running around at Willie. They simply can't all get a game in the 1's and only 2 from 05/06 have really solidly cemented their spot - Pendles and Thomas. There's still a lot of rotating and trialling going on (Cookie this week for example) although it'll probably drop off in the run to the finals.

Realistically, the club isn't looking at a premiership this year - it'd be a massive and unexpected bonus if we did make it, but the target is 2008 at earliest, probably 2009. There's plenty of time left for the kids. The 2007 draft isn't going to be a great one and we're going to need deep stocks for the run at 2009.

You really need to go to the games at Willy and watch the kids not just look at who gets in the best in the paper. I go quite often and I am a great fan of Stanners and Toovey. Stanners has a great future. He is by far the hardest
toughest player I have seen for a while. Sure to see a lot more of him in
2008.

I hope Licca retires to he has been to good a player for the club to run around as a fringe player struggling to get a game and being bagged when he does, I know we are short on inside mids but they are not gonna develop nor will we look as hard if we keep the old ones in.

Holland or Lonie i think in some way shape or form wether its trade or delist I don't think we should have both on the list next year. IMO Holland would be the one worth keeping as he has more variety to his game.

Iles could be in some trouble as well imo opinion seems to have the tools struggles with the pace, the only way you can adapt to the pace is at afl level and the fact that he isn't been given that chance makes me think he could be in a danger zone

I think one of Bryan/Richards is in trouble as much as i think Richards is the better option this year he'll be the one that goes he has had so long on the list. Imo get rid of one of them get two new rucks over off season

I think mick's made a judgement call and given the chances to see what kids look up to it at afl level. Nicholls similarly harshly treated but has been in the best a bit in the vfl but can't get a game as i think mick's made the call that his not part of the team going foward. I think mick may have made that call about davies b4 the start of the year.

Davies looks good at vfl level, may be a little one dimensional and certainly doesn't look up to it at afl level. Would be a battling fringe player at best at afl level from what i have seen.
