From Matthew Lloyds column on EFC's official site:

I went to the 1993 Grand Final between Essendon and Carlton as a 14-year-old kid. I barracked for Fitzroy as a young bloke but Carlton were the other club I followed a bit, particularly since dad had played for them. I sat behind the goals and cheered for Stephen Kernahan who was one of my football heroes as I was growing up.

you didnt know his old man played for Carlton?

If memory serves he was only a few games off making Matthew available under the father-son rule.

It's the "comeback" i use when scum supporters try to rub it in that Carlton "pinched" Bradley from us.

I know alright. Me parents know his.

Just saw the bit on channel 10. And they showed the bit of Wally smashing mil hanna into another orbit.
Wally:
"Yeah, me and sheeds had been planning that one for months"
Audience laughs
"Nah. We didn't. But it was a good one!"
:D

LOL - i loved how they replayed it about 3 times too. Was hoping they'd show longy's goal but that made up for it :D

Good to see Timmy winding up Thompson about having the chance to celebrate a win too.

:D Very cute (I would say that!).

Gets funnier when in another quote, he mentions it, and talks about how he hasn't told some of the Essendon guys some of the things he was yelling at them in the 1993 Grand Final. :D

His dad played 29 games for Carlton - I think he needed 50 games for Matthew to be drafted to Carlton under the father-son rule. Not positive though.
