Well eaglespeak is telling us that they are not really trying for the NAB cup. They will field a bunch of kids from the little league, and have their trainee waterbottle carriers supporting them from the sidelines. The reality is of course that they will be missing a couple of star players who have undergone surgery.

The Men In Purple on the other hand are telling us that we have never been so strong and will be playing like a group of possessed demons who will stop at absolutely nothing to win. The reality is we have a couple of stars out with injury, rehab and old age.

How hard do you think the two teams will go?

it's a lose lose situation media wise after the article in the worst
if we win the worst will say it's because the eagles were only showcasing kids & we're "fullstrengh'
& if we lose it'll be we can't even win against egrets/eaglets

I'll be pleased if we run hard enough to post a 6-8 goal win and play physical enough to inspire another Woosfold coaches box offensive. Not too much to ask really.

Is that the cue for him to storm into the opposition coaches box declaring,
" Crowley stop being a bully " :D

To later explain that he was looking for the dunnies.

Just been watching the rd21 06 derby and I'm thinking this is Dodd's chance to get Cox back for that knee to the chest that could have paralysed him.

Not that I condone revenge on the footy field!

:)

it would have to have been accidental - cox is one of the decent eagles

It was deadset reckless IMO. Hit the marking contest late and hard while leading with his knee.
However, given that Cox's record is pretty clean I'd say it was an isolated lapse of judgement and give him the benefit of the doubt.

ps - I think "decent eagle" might be an oxymoron.;)

Yep.
He should have gone for that. If Dodd has been seriously injured the gutless softcox would have got a holiday.
It was reckless.

Very astute observation janiek.

The best option is to take the lesser of two evils and abbasolutely flog them. ;)

LOL, Did I tell you who won the 2006 Premiership...:D :D

Yeah, that was a shocking incident and I'm glad the AFL took a firm stand, we don't want unneccessary physicallity ruining our game.

How many weeks did the tribunal give Cox again?

Paralysed by a blow to the chest?

Hardly.

100 airborne kilos in the small of the back or the neck, possibly, but the chest?

I don't think so.

So again the media is full of the Eagles are taking it easy (with 4 players missing from the GF team), whereas the Dockers are naming a near full strength squad, (with five players, plus Tarrant, missing from the PF team).

The reality is that the Eagles are building a wall of smoke around them, hiding behind their usual doublespeak.

Most definately . I would try and blow the West Coast out of the water early then cruise for the 2nd half. I would take the Alice Springs game serious aswell,

Only the loser will go to Alice Springs. The winner plays at the dome, then back at Subi if we make the semi's. If we win the first 2 there is a good chance of playing 3 out of 4 in Perth.
