Here's a list of players we could have a look at

FWD/BACK
Jack Watts
Mitch Brown (GEE)

KPD
Tayte Pears
Matthew Watson
Mitch Brown (WCE)

Defenders
Seb Tape
Alan Toovey (coming off recon so not likely)

Ruckman
Dawson Simpson
Max Gawn
Don't need any 185 cm to 190 cm defenders I think got a few of them Lockyer , Brown , Towers , Rampe
Need KPD I think would look at Luke Delaney from north to 194 cm 97 kg only 24 years of age and Joel Tippett 197 cm 95 kgs

Lockyer hasn't played a game and his form in the NEAFL hasn't been great,Towers looks like being a forward at the moment. Mattner has retired and Shaw is pretty close. At the moment Mcveigh has been dropping back there but he deserves to play midfield.

Mids taken care of for longer than 2 years Kennedy , Hanners , Mitchell , Parker, Jacks, Lamb and Jetta will carry us for along time hopefully Perris will be another one to add in.
mids take you only so far. I think you misread my post. Our mids will be top teir for more than 2 years, so will our forwards..our backs however? Johnson, Smith, Rampe.ok.. Everitt? Cunningham? armstrong:thumbsdown:

Johnson, Rampe, Smith will be good I don't know if anyone's noticed but Everitt has really been trying to take blokes on which is a good sign he has a long penetrating kick that could really set us up. Need two KPDs this year and another small defender. We will get Perris so there's another young mid
Armstrong could get delisted

Everitt has been good, but he his not a KPD. He's a tall flanker, a tall Malceski, if you will. We need replacemnts for Richards and Grundy in the next 2 years to keep our window open. Lockyer, not big enough, and will be delisted. A.Browne, a bit like Everitt, is quick and not a gorrila wrestler. X.Richards..skinny, years away. Marsh, Towers, Dick...nup..flankers. We need a KPD..a wrangler..perhaps 2, soon. Johnson is best kept in the role that made him a premiership player, he's quick, good skills..wasted if we develop him into a wrangler.

That is what I meant with Everitt and Johnson could take the roles of Shaw and Malceski hopefully Everitt should model his game on Sam Fishers.

AJ is actually taller than both Grundy and Teddy, when he bulks up he'll just step in - natural progression.

bit harsh on lockyer, played a total of 120 minutes last year, has worked hard and has size and speed to handle the KP. was good on the weekend in newcastle, should have been in the best had over twenty possessions down back.

Well im assuming Rampe continues on with his fine development, Everitt stays in as the 3rd tall, who goes out of the side for LRT/AJ?
LRT may retire at years end not that I want him to. Long mire might ask him to hang around if he can't pick anyone else up.

Here's a couple things I've been thinking about please refrain from any abuse ;)
Mumford to gws for pick 10
Use pick 10 on Darcy Gardiner
White and Lamb to Carlton for Shaun Hampson
Pick 13-??on Nathan Freeman
2nd rounder Mitch Brown Geelong
3rd rounder Lloyd Perris

GWS Probably won't trade pick 10 for Mumford, It would be the fair trade but with his injuries I think we would only get a late first round selection.

Darcy Gardiner will probably go a little earlier in the draft now, about a month ago he probably would of gone at around picks 15-18 but after his under 18's championships he will probably go somewhere between picks 5-8.

We won't be interested in Hampson, No real need for him and he isn't your *natural footballer* that and we won't be trading off Lamb.

I think Freeman will go a little later than pick 13, Most likely a second round pick at around 23-28 range, If we have pick 13 will probably go for a Dumont, Marsh, Kolodjashnij or perhaps a utility like Acres.

As for Mitch Brown still not sure Geelong will give him up, but if they do they will want a late first round selection.

Perris can get selected with out last National Draft pick as he is an NSW Scholarship selection not an academy player.

We like players that aren't natural. Brown has been on the cats list for about five years and played about 10 games that won't get a first rounder.

We need ANOTHER tall forward/back-up ruckman??? Hampson is as disappointing to Carlton fans as White is to many Sydney fans, and I'd even suggest White offers more now than Hampson does.

That's if we lost Mumford. I watched Hampton live against the cats he was jumping all over them at centre bounces I'd use him as a full time ruckman

Pyke, LRT and Kennelly aside generally when we go for pure *athletes* it hasn't really worked for us.

As for Brown he has a heap of potential and key position players take time to develop, They won't give him up cheaply, it will take a pick between 18-22 to get the job done.

Re Mitch Brown.

You would have to seriously worry about Geelong not wanting to improve one of their biggest rivals chances at a flag. It would be different if he wanted to go to Melbourne or Western Bulldogs.

I would like the club to trade for watts, I'd happily give our first rounder for him. I like the look of brown from the cats and pears. If we can land a decent kpd in the next year or 2 I'd be stoked . I have every faith in the club and it's recruitment team, no doubt they'll be busily working on something at the moment

We are in 4th spot now with 9 premiership players not playing you ad Rohan , Tippett , McGylnn to last years Grand Final side and is an even better side. We will only lose Matter and Jude going into next season which we will cover and with Parks, Hanners , Mitchell , Reid , AJ just to name a few only to get better and Membrey , BJ , XR , Towers with another pre season we can only go forwards not back. If we can stay injury free nexted season we will no doubt be an even better team than we have ever been I think. 2014 can be a big year again

I really think Watts is the kind of player who'd thrive at Sydney ... and until the Neeld axing I was sure he'd be open to any offers from other clubs, but he seems to be happier under Craig.

But if we managed it, I'd be thinking he'd be groomed as aa long-term CHB.
