It all depends on what our plan is.

Maybe we didn't expect much more than finals this year and intended to have a real crack at 2018. Maybe we are rebuilding.

If we don't have any upside for 2018 then maybe the club will pull the trigger on Ken.

For me I'm not going to melt if we keep him on or even if we give him an extension. IMO going into next year with Hinkley coming out of contract puts too much pressure on the team so I'd prefer us to sack him or continue with him rather than wait for a decision to make itself.

I don't think we are far off the pace, but we have clear deficiencies in our line up and an aging group of good players. Next year is boom or bust now.

I doubt that KT would be allowed to make the call unless it was first sanctioned by the board, and I tend to agree with the first part of your statement.

After they worked out they had a premiership squad and coach, who needed more help and have responsibilities taken away from him and given to a new position of Footy Ops Manager, get in a new fitness regime etc.

Anyone think we haven't given Hinkley enough resources? Did our fitness program fail so much we had to sack the head guy like Geelong sacked Loris Bertolacci early on at the start of the 2006 season? Anyone think Hinkley is a premiership coach in waiting? Geelong were a mess but had the players especially loading up from the 2001 super draft and a couple of drafts either side. We loaded up in 2 super drafts of 2006 and 2008 and have got below elite results.

I guess but on the flip side the I get the feeling that the Facebook crowd aren't the same crowd that go to games week in week out. Crowds are starting to slip and 41K to a prime time final would suggest all is not well.
