I was sitting with the non playing players, and when the replay of Mcguane's hit was on the replay, Rance who was in front of us puts his head in his hands and holds up 3 fingers and says 3 weeks.

Thought 3 or 4 at the time. High impact but no damage done. Ray must be pretty tough. Pity it wasn't Milne.

It really didn't look great because he jumped off the ground aswell. I'd have to see it again, I think.

First instinct was 4.

2-4 weeks. I'm guessing he can't get a worse assessment then Rance even though his hit looked worse. It will completely depend on whether past discretions give him extra points and if he does get charged as bad as Rance. Any longer then 4 weeks and the MRP is full of shit.

Yeah 3 seems about right. Hard to predict though. They might just give him 6 for the hell of it.

Kick a player in the nuts gets no weeks so i think McGuane should be made to play two games next weekend.

I'll tip 5 , 2 because thats what its worth and the other 3, because thats the standard add on if you play for us !
Agree.
He'll get 6 and be offered 5 if guilty plea.

The worst part was that he clearly signalled intent and left the ground. The AFL will be keen to establish a record of protecting players in light of the pending compo cases for brain injuries, exactly the same reason the concussion rule has been introduced out of the blue.

If it was Judd though, Ray would have been reported, just to protect his Charlie eligibility.:)

No idea with the way it is done nowadays.... How will the impact be judged. Waite went off concussed last week and Ray took his kick tonight and looked unhurt....

My gut says 4 to 3 with an early plea (does he have hangover points) but could be anywhere from 2 to 6!!! Stupid system

So Ray gets up and takes the kick and kicks a goal and McGuane gets 5 weeks for it?
Get your hand off it.

4, 3 with guilty IMO
Was really strong impact and jumped which wasn't good
In play though, and not a head high hit so saves some points there- whereas IIRC Rance's was high impact behind play.

High contact, intentional, medium impact

yes, he'll get 5

It's not right but you're delusional if you think the MRP will do anything different.

Just because I'm pissed off we lost Rance for 3 weeks for a hip and shoulder and now Mcguane for stupid high bump (loved it though) i had another look at the hit Ray landed on Selwood.

How he didn't get more weeks than Rance is beyond me. Ray never actually gets anywhere near the ball, nor does he make a real attempt, and at the last minute he pulls out by turning his body into Selwoods head. I thought head over the ball forceful contact was guaranteed weeks but for some reason the MRP are very inconsistent.

LOL! :D:thumbsu: Love it mate. They would have given him a 'get out of tribunal free' card for that.

The one somewhat positive thing about a suspension longer than 4weeks, is that with an early plea (25% reduction), depending on the exact points and whether the player has any carry over points, it can sometimes be reduced by 2weeks as the 25% discount will be greater than 100 points (though I guess you then have carry over points hanging over your head for the year)

If not for the substitute rule Rance would have only got a week. Waite was champing at the bit (like our Jack tonight) to get back onto the field.

If Rance got 4 (net 3) for holding his ground Mcguane will probably get life without parole

(Actually he should plead innocent because he was concussed ... after all his balls were still rattling and sore from Waites back kick last week. I know when I get kicked in the balls my head hurts ^^)

i hope he gets nothing for it, ray wasnt even hurt......

ps, loved every minute of last night, pity those ****ing umpires ****ed you over again, he was being tackled how the **** is that deliberate?

High contact, intentional, low impact.
3 weeks, 2 with a guilty plee.

Crazy system isn't it, but because Ray got up and played on Rance's bump is deemed much worse.
