How much would you pay to sit in on a team selection meeting?

Would love to sit around the round table and hear the cases for certain players, why certain players get chosen, why certain players get left out.

Does anyone at the meeting look at the centre line and see rosa, priddis and dalziell, raise their hand and suggest maybe we need to inject some speed?

Does someone even plead a case?

Does anyone suggest deficiencies from the previous week and suggest selections accordingly?

Would love to hear the pros and cons of certain players matches from the previous week and what they did (that the average joe might not pick up) and why they should retain their spot.

Just to see if in fact the match committee's knowledge of our team is as advanced and professional as it should be, or just a bunch of guys not wanting to go home at night and deal with the missus.

I'd drop a few large to sit in on a Thursday

Whatever you're willing to pay, i dont think its as much as Embley, A Selwood, McGinnity and Hams are paying at the moment ;)
I dunno, one jillion dollars is quite a lot.

No they sneak into the back of the room and move around calling their names out from different positions so that the MC think "hey I am hearing a lot of buzz about this ASelwood character perhaps we should give him a go"

Or before they start ASelwood comes in and puts a laptop on the middle of the table playing highlights from yesteryear when he was shutting down Stevie J or Judd and says "I am just going to leave this here...I trust you will do what is right by the club"

I'm thinking they jump around with mirrors shouting "shiny things, shiny things" while one of the other aforementioned players types all thier names in the match list and hits send on the MC's computer. :D

Do we even ever line up how named? Gaff will play on the wing and in the middle, Kerr with start on the wing at times too, as will Masto. Rosa will probably start off half back at times if last week is anything to go by.

This week it was just seeing the 30 players available and crossing off those who aren't ready to play. Only left us about 24 players.

I don't think the meeting would be enough. I would want to sit in on the individual reviews, see the training, the team meetings, see all the off field stuff first to see if how much that influences selection.

It sometimes boggles belief that certain players get picked sometime, but there has to be reasons why, whether they believe that a run in the big league is going to be more beneficial to break a run of bad form than a run in the wafl, are they backing in a long term servant of the club to come good? It would be fascinating. As has been said, as a one off I would pay a lot for that. (If I ever had $$$, anyways)
