It's also due to the clubs' tendencies to target players who play well more than three times a year.

Gee, I got goosebumps watching it and then I watched the last minute of the 96 prelim (more goosebumps) and then Leo's mark (even more goosebumps). Man what a goosebump fix. Left my skin feeling like bubble-wrap

The best thing is I was at all those games. Somehow despite only ducking back to Oz occasionally I've managed to be at the ones that mattered, from the Swans defeat of the unbeaten Saints in 2004 to Kelly's 200th and Plugger's 1300th goal.

On a serious note I found myself looking back at our 2005 forward line of Hall,MOL,Davis,Schneids & ROK and wondering whether we'll ever see that sort of fire power again. Goodes is our only reliable multiple goal-kicker these days and we had to rob our midfield to put him there. Can White, Vez etc step up ? That's one mighty big step.

that quarter was absolutely amazing...it'll be a while before we see something like that again...if ever...he single handedly demolished geelong

and in the context of that game...4 goals is ridiculous...and they were all great goals...i still get goosebumps...i got that on tape...lol...pop it in every now and again when feel like being amazed...

and that last goal was just class...didn't even have control of it...

i was devistated when i heard he got delisted...sure he had poor form but at least he wasn't leon davis...lol we'd still be waiting for a premiership

Closest I can think of was Kirk's 3rd quarter last year against the Roos to single-handedly turn the game in our favour with his huge clearances out of the centre.

What relevance does my ability (or lack thereof) have to do with it?

The comparison should not be with me, sitting on the sidelines, it should be with the other players around him. His effort repeatedly failed to match what those around him were putting in. You can't have a passenger like that in a football team, particularly not a team like the Swans.

I didn't deny that he had talent, nor did I deny that when he was on he was really on.

The reasons why he was delisted should clear to everyone. They were succinctly summarised in my post, which was a direct response to someone wondering how he got delisted.
