Re: Create a retro shield logo on Paint - a tutorial

I'm guessing all your 2010 jumpers collection will feature the club logo below the sponsor as it seems that is what you please.

No, that's just my preference:p

They'll be as they look, but I really can't be arsed with the sponsor reversing crap:D

How did you make that shape in powerpoint that you use to frame the AKOTW hall of fame and so on?;)

Autoshapes. Just a plain box and a thick outline.

I'm surprised and pleased that StatsFanatic copied the template to a tee without any guidance from myself, he did really well.

Do you want to use that type of template? Font is Verdana just to let you know.

They'll all have Mero's 22 on it though.

Mind if you shoot me the template?

Re: Create a retro shield logo on Paint - a tutorial

I had a go at this last night using Paint Shop Pro. The lettering for the nickname didn't fit so I had to use a different font (Bauhaus).

I posted the lettering to WhatTheFont.com and the folks there identified the font as Marvin, also known as Marbold. (Probably might be best to get a copy of the font and store it locally if you're going to use it in tutorials, in case that site removes it due to high traffic.)

I had a go at another shield this evening... much better job I feel.

I'm keen to see some more logos! After my attempt on the Buffaloes - which originally was double-size - I've tried to keep the logo to the original proportions of Gibbsyspin's tutorial.

Decided to have a go at a country club with one of the rarer nicknames :) No clipart this time.

I've also been uploading my logos to deviantART: http://omegaville.deviantart.com/

Re: Create a retro shield logo on Paint - a tutorial

Just updated the tutorial completely to include Omegaville's great find of the actual font used in the shield logos.

Have a go yourself and you'll find it's a lot easier and better :thumbsu:
