I reckon we will go with:
Talls: Hampson, Vickery, Riewoldt.
Mid: A. Edwards
Smalls: Edwards, King

HF: A. Edwards, Vickery, King
F: S. Edwards, Riewoldt, Hampson

I agree, although I reckon A.Edwards may go back to being depth next year. Throw D.Martin in his place.
I reckon Maric will get regular rests in which McBean will be brought in to play that forward role (that Hampson is in) and Hampson will take No.1 ruck for those weeks.

depends how many rucks is it possible to play. we have 4
I reckon 1 will have to miss out

-Maric is number 1 ruck
-Vickery is full time forward
-Number 2 ruck is between Mcbean and Hampson. I see Mcbean as a better forward and Hampson as a better ruck.

Full Forward: Jack Riewoldt
Center Half Forward: Ty Vickery
Third Tall: Ivan Maric
Ruckman: Shaun Hampson

That's the talls, obviously Hampson and Maric interchange.

Smalls is where it gets interesting.

Shane Edwards, Jake King, Matt McDonough, Dustin Martin can all go there, I feel we are a dynamic small forward short. Hope the club see this too.

I think Edwards will go out for Knights.
Edwards did playa some good games but Knights can rotate through the midfield and give our other mids a rest up foward

Martin Vickery King
Hampson Reiwoldt Edwards

Hampson to rotate through the ruck with Maric
Martin to rotate through the midfield
King as a defensive forward

I think Sydney has show that the game is moving past small forwards, the small forwards tend to be midfield rotating forward now.
Good looking forward line if you ask me.

When Hampson and Maric rotate would you have Hampson sitting out the goal square or in the pocket? and i reckon we will get a small forward in one of the drafts may it be we take a punt on Dayle garlett if still available or even jay kennedy-harris. Although i would like to see us rookie list Andy Krakour to play as that small and let him finish his career where it all begun.

Which Edwards is the one in the pocket, A or S?

I think with the club picking up Shaun Hampson Maric will play forward more to give himself a rest and Hampson will go into the ruck. Riewoldt and Vickery would be the two other talls. Jake King will play in the forward line because of his defensive pressure and the important goals he kicks. I think Knights will play in the forward line and across the half forward flank as a link-up kind of player, utilising his long goal kicking. Shane Edwards is other player I think will be in our forward line. He creates goals with his speed and agility. He can also rotate through the midfield.

That would mean our forward line would look like this:

King, Reiwoldt, Maric
Knights, Vickery, S. Edwards

Shane Edwards would rotate through the midfield with another midfielder like Martin taking his place in the forward line. Maric and Hampson would rotate through the ruck and forward line.

Aaron Edwards would lose his spot in the forward line from last year but he could get a game because of injury or suspension. McBean would also be someone pushing for selection.

HF: A.Edwards/Knights - Vickery - Riewoldt
FF: King/McDonough - Griffiths - Mcbean (crumbing forward)
Interchange: Edwards, Hampson

Knights:
Able to play in the midfield to a larger degree than A. Edwards. From what i've seen i'd prefer Knights over A.Edwards because he just looks so slick through the midfield and in the forward line.
Edwards does have his capabilities with his exceptional marking but versatility is key.

McDonough:
Ideally i'd like to see McDonough bloom into that Chapman/Stevie J type next year but obviously he hasn't been exposed to AFL much, and can't adapt quickly enough. Hopefully with our own VFL team he can learn more from that. King would be the obvious choice at the moment because he's basically the general up forward where he organizes the structure and enthuses forward pressure with his repeated efforts and outstanding courage. However, he does lack that playmaker trait of just getting possession and making magic happen. McDonough seems like a smart player and through the VFL this year he has been progressively better, in terms of production.

Griffiths should be put deep in the goal square if he's able to prove himself, however, i'm afraid his injuries will hurt him psychologically similarly to Vickery's 2012 season where he doesn't go near it. The other place he could be put would be on the half forward line with his deadly boot hitting targets inside 50 repeatedly.

F: Hampson Riewoldt King
HF: Knights Vickery Edwards

Maric and Hampson rotate

Knights/Edwards rotate with Dusty

McBean coming in when a tall needs a rest

I don't like the fact that at any given time there will be two 200cm players who aren't natural forwards playing in the fwd line

If it is McBean and TV they will have to be separated McBean half forward, TV deep,

Maric can't play with these guys in the forward line, not enough quality and point of difference IMO

My belief Hampson will play mainly ruck and only floating forward to create a miss match or we are well on top. I dont see him being a permanent forward or playing a similar role to Tyrone this year. IMO the coaches will give Maric more forward time then Hampson.

I'm thinking opposite, Hampson more forward, rucking when maric is benched. But I have no idea really

That's how i see it initially anyway then things may change

Vickery and Jack CAN NOT play next to each other in 2014... they get in each others way...

This is a good starting line up... Griffiths always has and always will be a CHF, i hope he finally gets his chance injury free.

it seems dimma wants to play jack as more of a chf so we could line up like
FF: Vickery Hampson/Maric Mcdonough
HF: Martin/Cotchin/Ellis JR Knights/Edwards/Mcbean

Dimma said that riewoldt will play high up the ground and vickery deep so i would swap those two.
