Howe as a forward

Howe admitted yesterday he was a lazy forward and that he got worked out.

Very small chance he goes forward again.

As a defender he's AA quality.

His best spot is as a back he will be AA defender. In saying that I thought we could of moved him forward or Reid for that matter to give us an option in the 2nd half on the weekend.

Moore is not ready.
Cox is too slow to get real seperation and seems umps aren't going to pay the chopping of his arms (don't care if he is quick for his size 3.0 20m is slow for a footballer period). He is bodied out of position too easy at this stage and really needs more core work and smash squats for 12 months.

To pinch hit Howe forward is a fine idea.
Overall I've heard him say he's just not as effective forward.
Reads the play better going from the back.

Pinch hitting, love to see it here nad there.

Imagine this:

Elliot!
Fasolo
Hoskin-Elliot (why have one Elliot when you can have two)
Howe

The defenders would have palpitations

(And Moore running around back in better form)

Throw in Crocker

(Not that shabby. Just need the big boys do more)
If you put Fas Elliott , Howe and WHE in a fwd line, who would be the odd one out. Only one can't pirouette himself out of trouble.
As much as I have been a fan of Howe in the fwd line, I would keep him back. He is just that good. Almost every time there was pack mark with Howe amongst them, he comes out with the goodies. And spoils if he has too. There were a few goals where we missed the spoil by maybe 2 handwidths and got goaled against. With that margin in mind , why would give that up in our backline.

Agree.

Just occasionly like too see Howe just scare defences

if only we had two!
He is so critical down back, taking pack marks, coming over the top to courageously spoil and his rebound is essential to our attack too!

And maybe a more relevant conversation for when Shaz gets some fitness and consistency to replace him down back but I think with our lack of marking tall options A couple of Howe pack marks each game might help spread the aerial load a bit. He can also impact at ground level obviously too.

If we could clone a third, he'd be useful on a wing.

His form last yr and 1st game of this yr.. well it would be difficult to change positions right now.. when our backline gets stronger.. i would definitely consider throwing him up forward regardless of how good his form is down back.

Okay then. In a thread talking about options of Howe going forward, if we going to do that I suggested Reid. Sorry.

Send Reid Forward and we have next to Nothing in the KPD Posts. Dunn and Schade does not fill people with Confidence

I don't think it's to far of a stretch to say that Howe is currently the best intercept mark in the comp, I am pretty confident he will be AA this year.

Will also go close to winning our BnF.

Would like to see it as a change up.

For example, we were 2 goals down against the Doggies and maybe could have thrown caution to the wind considering Cox, Moore and White just weren't looking dangerous.

Could've been an idea to maybe throw Moore and White behind the ball (we know both are competent defensively) and perhaps thrown Reid and Howe forward. Just give our forward line a different look.

I think Howe would be very quickly worked out as a permanent forward...but as an odd switch up it is a good idea. He is a tough match up given his leap and strong hands.
