Looks like you’re onto something here DanWA

The purples are indeed getting a good old reach around from the umps this year!

Looks like they’ve weaselled their way all the way to 12th after the softest fixture in the comp so far by riding a wave of umpire assistance!

All going to plan then for Gill and his good mate Garlick

It was most blatant in their game against the bottom side

Longmanure had broken a long record of losing first quarters so Gil put the call in

Quick goals via flops from Walters and Treacy to kick off proceedings

First Suma has a crack at Darling

Now he's taking aim at the Cockburners

Darcy’s management in Victoria is flaunting his services around AFL inner circles as he seriously considers moving home.

The recruitment of Luke Jackson and Darcy’s growing doubts on winning a flag soon at Fremantle have prompted one of the game’s top ruckmen to reconsider where best to continue his blossoming career.
Darcy wants a better deal than Jackson got. Anything less is taking the piss
And while Darcy contemplates his future, teammate Nat Fyfe in a painstaking injury recovery and a diminishing price on his playing value.

The Dockers superstar, 31, needs to be playing and through the midfield to keep his bargaining chips at a high price during contract talks at Fremantle and while he evaluates mounting interstate options.

His return into an up and down Dockers outfit, new deal negotiations and robust talks on a prospective move will rage on this season.

Fyfe served notice of his worth to Fremantle’s midfield strategies when the clearances specialist in just 40 minutes on the ground in his return to action against Hawthorn on Saturday night.
This is true, Natalie goes into the middle then Cockburn ran over the bottom team. How much of a pay cut for Natalie though?
His 10 disposals, a couple of clearances and a typically bullocking snap goal turned the clock back on Fyfe’s potential influence.

Darcy is consulting a tight circle of friends that he unfortunately has doubts about a Dockers premiership soon because of a dramatic decline in playing style.

Fremantle’s management will deny this and claim he is happy at Cockburn.

Knowing how clubs handle such speculation, Dockers bosses will likely instruct Darcy to publicly swear his unconditional allegiance to Fremantle and their flag hopes.
:fire:
Livewire Michael Walters, who is a close friend of Hill’s and has a close player coach relationship to Lyon that is second to none, is also unrestricted at the end of this season and could walk into the Saints if he was offered a two-year contract with an optional third.
Even Walters trying to get 2/3 years!

The Cockburners are even more than upset with Suma now 🤣

Personally think Darcy just wants to have a fair contract length and pay for being the #1 ruck compared to what they gave up for the backup ruck

Victorian clubs can easily push that up because Cockburn won't want Jackson as #1 ruck

All depends how much of a lowball Natalie takes

Walters is an interesting one!

Im surprised that we've kept Darcy for this long then.

Can't wait for Walters/Fyfe to take reduced deals to keep Darcy at the club.

Darcy is a Key Asset - Can kick well, mark well and works incredibly hard.

Yeah and i think he wants to stay at Cockburn to

He just wants an even or better deal than Jackson got for being the backup

No chance in hell Sean Darcy will leave Freo.

The dockers will hold him to his contract, unless we get overs.

He might as well wait until the end of next season as he is a free agent

What if Cockburn offer him less than the backup ruck?

This season would be Cockburn's maximum return on him in a draft Cockburn has no part of

He's out of contract next year and can be walked to PSD

Serious question.....

Jack Darling is 30 or 31 years old this season.

Do you see him play in the eagles next finals side?
If he does they are not taking the rebuild seriously.

Darcy’s ****ed off Bell and Garlick lied to him when their 4 year plan embarrassingly didn’t get over the first hurdle after wrecking the rebuild by dumping everything they have on a spare ruck / crap forward.

Put yourself in his shoes there’s no point wasting a career and becoming just another purple statistic where noone outside of Cockburn will ever remember you existed. You’d be shopping yourself around too if you were in his shoes.

Might work out good for everyone if feathers can swindle a first rounder out of someone for him before the big fellas knee’s give out. Win / win.

As this is the food thread and it is mothers day this weekend what are everyones plans, food wise?

Anyone doing anything a bit different this year?

This is the wonderful food thread once you get done slowly sipping your lemon juice. 👍
Hopefully it will start kicking off again. All that iconic food talk in the first part of the food thread seems to have been lost to the ages.

well It depends.... If they plan to see out this rebuild and make finals and they and win a final by 2025 or 2026, they might need an old head or 2 for finals experience.

I think of David Mundy and Michael Walters seeing Fremantles finals wins from 2010-2022. Its crazy both blokes saw 3 different coaches that got freo at leas one finals win.

I mean you look back at Freos elim final last season, David Mundy Was 37 years old and 45 days, Walters was 31 years and 239 days old. He saw through our 2016-21 rebuild. Before that, Our last finals win under Ross Lyon was 2015 Qualifying final vs the swans. David Mundy was 30 years and 54 days, Walters was aged 24 years old and 248 days..

And if you want to look at freos last finals win before ross Lyon was coach. Taht was under coach mark havrey when we won that 2010 elim final vs the hawks. David Mundy was 25 years and 46 days old, playing his 129th game. Walters was playing only his 7th game, he was only 19 years and 240 days old.

thats unique finals stat For Mundy and Walters. They both played in finals wins under Harvey, Lyon and Longmuir. I wish Fyfe played in that 2022 elim final too.

Yeah because I am sure that on Nic Nats current form, he is worth pick 10-15
