In 2009 we could have posed a similar question with regards to Bryce Gibbs or Tom Hawkins from 2006 draft.

The arguments used in favour of Daicos now could easily have been applied to Gibbs but we know who produced the best career.

I still pick Darcy

Trouble with your Gibbs Hawkins analogy is you have picked a high draft mid in Gibbs who never in his career produced an output that matched the hopes. His 1st 4 seasons are not a patch on what Daicos has produced. By season 4 there was already clear evidence the career would not match the hype.

I think the Hawkins choice is a better one.

Nonetheless I would predict 2 massive careers for Daicos and Darcy. Both will end up much more like Hawkins than Gibbs in career production. I would go as far as to say Daicos will almost certainly pass Hawkins production and will be Collingwoods GOAT and Darcy stands a good chance to do likewise.

Big praise I know as Hawkins had an all time great career.

TT, NWM and Darcy right now have something vital missing from their resume, and it's finals performance. Daicos has that. They not only need to play finals, but play well.
