Hot on the heels of watching I Am Legend (the worst movie I've seen since Mel Gibsons Signs), me & the boys finally agreed on our membership packages & purchased them today. So now we can all say, "I Am Member". And to be honest, a movie based on us renewing our memberships would be better than the rot I watched last night.

It is one of those movies that you either love or hate, personally I loved it but then again I was a fan of the original movie "the Omega man" starring Charlton Heston back in the 70's.

Good on ya for buying the memberships :thumbsu:

Yes.

"I am Legend" was ok until God saved everything. I felt like doing some hardcore Devil worshipping after sitting through the last 40 minutes of utter crap that movie put across.

It's weird, a lot of Americans seem to believe this idea... you just have to wonder how they manage to end up with so many f ups if God is on their side.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Big problem with the movie, that and the desire to use a hundred million for shite cgi when a million dollars of prosthetics would have been far better.

First half of the flick was OK - aside from the crap SFX.

Then they seemed to run out of money and rushed the ending with more crap SFX and the churchy theme.

Still - not the worst or most over rated flick I've seen this month. Death at a Funeral still is in the lead position. Major disappointment.

Bit harsh on Signs, mate, but yes 'I am Legend' was 'I am Slow and Uninteresting', or rather Castaway sans--a decent actor.

Get on "3.10 To Yuma".

Well, not literally. Actually, not sure if it's still running.

But I saw it on the weekend and I give it two big Uma Thurman thumbs up.*

(* Warning: reference to a(nother) crap film.)

I hate films like this - the person walking around the corner to nothing, nothing, nothing - ZOMBIE! Scares the hell out of me.

My friend read the book and told me everything before it happened as well - very very different ending. No church as saviour theme - must be Hollywood that is playing this card.

What about 28 weeks later. The start killed me - hes looking into the distance and BAM the zombie crunches through the boards. It gets pretty poor after that. That one scene though - I was caught watching as well.

One of the scariest movies i've seen.

Ending was very poor.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I really hope you haven't just spoiled the ending for me . Spoiler tags are your friend!

**SPOILER**

highlight to reveal

At the end, they explained that the refuge place had been spared, and (as I recall...) this was due to the air-borne virus being unable to penetrate the cold. Is that what they said?
If so, then what about... I don't know... RUSSIA! And all the other places on Earth that are frozen over? Surely they would have been spared, too?

And another thing - if the main character (Smith) was so smart, why did he go back to the video store after the mutants had tricked him by using a mannequin taken from the very same store? Surely those mutants could have booby-trapped the store as well.

Agree about SFX - often over-done/unnecessary at the start of the film.

But disagree about references to God - if anything I thought they could have gone further with this notion. I don't believe in God and I'm not religious, but that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate a film that is trying to make a statement along the lines of 'Don't play God'.

**END SPOILER**

Spoilers? Bah. Don't pay money to see this film. It's shithouse. Spoil that!!

Also, how the **** did that chick and the kid get to the island and then out of it? Smith is driving around like a gumby for 3 years, she rocks in no trouble at all.

Bollocks film.
