After attending the Essendon vs. Brisbane game tonight, and buying my girlfriend a record, I had a read through it, was intrigued when I saw that Uncle Ray ('Razor' Ray Chamberlain) [#18] was umpiring the game.

I spent a little time watching the defender in the goal square against the opposing full forward and how many times he cheated (and to my surprise it wasn't any where near the amount that Hudghton did it last night)

After that, I proceeded to watch Razor Ray (it's a whole different perspective when you're not focused on the play), he believes he is the star of the show, he believes he is above the game, when in reality, he's just a small fish in the ocean.

May I remind you, in the two previous games that Razor has umpired Carlton, we've been crucified, absolutely good and proper (re; Adelaide and Essendon). Tonight, he was absolutely terrible, his calls were inconsistent, some that were there he didn't pay and others he plucked out of his rear end, he is whistle happy and as a neutral tonight, he ruined the game.

Why is he still allowed to umpire? And while I'm on the topic of umpires, my favourite umpire Matt James (umpired us on Friday night), I thought he had a shocker

Mate as much as I bag the umps you are either good enough or you're not. Sure Fev was basically r*ped by Max with his scragging off the ball but Waite got away with a bit on Reiwoldt as well.

l do agree that some umps are too ego driven though - a necessary evil though as if we dont have them we dont have a game.

Ray suffers from small man syndrome which is another problem he has!

If he umpires when we play against a really good side then i am happy because when Ray is umpiring he can change games. I cringe when he is umpiring when we are favourites

I actually thought he was a piece of some drunk down on the esplanades late night ####!!!

We didn't loose the game because of the umpires, but just on Razor...

There is absolutely no doubt that he is the worst umpire in the game. He thinks it is all about him!

Who knows. I've never umpired a footy match before. However, I can appreciate that umpiring would not be the easiest job going around but I can also identify bad umpiring when I see it and will comment on it when there is a thread dedicated to it.

I'm an indoor cricket umpire, and I can say that umpiring a fast paced sport is not easy, with never a dull moment, can barely afford to take your eye off the game, my job would be made a lot easier if there was 2 others to help me out, but there isn't, I can guarantee you that I make some bad decisions, but I'm never inconsistent, Ray is terrible, face it HBF, he's a shocking umpire and it's either a) bad luck or b) there's something more in it when he umpires a Carlton game.
