Yep, a Victorian driver's licence. This despite having driven my entire life in left-hand drive vehicles on the right side of streets and highways.

And they didn't even make me take a road test. They just tested my road rules. Scary, eh? And I don't even have to wear P-plates.

I'm not quite sure I should have had it so easy, to be honest, even though I have a very clean driving record overseas.

2 things to remember.
1. The speed limit here seems to be just a suggestion. Those signs with the numbers surrounded by a little red circle are just the minumum speed allowed on that road.
2. Remember the colour red? Well there are two shades here. There's "I've just turned red-red", which means you can still proceed into the intersection at your pleasure, especially if you are in a hurry. Do not, under any circumstances slow down if you are doing this....in fact speed up if you can. Pay no attention to pedestrians or cyclists; if they mattered, they'd have gotten into a car for their journey. There is also "Really red-red", at which you actually have to stop, pausing your incredibly important transit by a matter of a minute or so, and causing you to be late or miss whatever you carelessly neglected to leave a little earlier for.

Cheers, and carry your credit card at all times in Victoria....the "tax by stealth" state!
