Ok I have a question. Anyone can help even if they don't work for Australia Post.

I am looking at buying a DVD from USA that is banned in Australia. How does Airmail work are items checked along the way enough that they would find out what i am trying to get or would it be easy to get the item that iam after sent. I have no idea how this works. Any help would be greatful.

We can't actually check inside regarding the contents of parcels unless there's damage and even then we can only repair it (we could get the sack for it), however items such as these are generally checked at customs in the States and here because there has to be a signed declaration. At least that's how I understand it. I would ask someone but I'm on 2 weeks hols now!

Firstly, I'm pretty sure the law is that the movie can't be sold inside Australia. If you import it, I doubt it will be checked unless you order hundreds of them. The Satanic bible is banned in Australia but you can easily order that from overseas. (An old mate of mine has it).

Secondly, hate to break it to you but almost half of FOD was faked.

oh and thirdly, I swear I've seen FOD available to rent at my local DVD rental store. It may be a different one, but it's an extreme mondo film none the less, which I thought would've been banned anyway.

Yeah i know faces of death is fake however i still want to see it :) thanks though lol...

I worked with customs for a short period of time with Aus Post. The postal workers can open the mail but cant go through the contents, that's for the customs officer to go through. The mail officer then repacks the parcel and places tape across it that indicates that customs have inspected the contents.

They have a list of things they're looking for and unless the sender is on their hitlist, you're actually pretty unlucky to have your stuff rifled through. Sometimes they'll do it as a random thing though.

They really haven't got time to open everything and only hit stuff that's suspicious. I've never had a DVD inspected.

so theoretically it should be possible to send drugs domestically via post and you would be unlucky to get caught?
