I gotta admit he's quite possibly my fav Tiger. he has a never say die attitude that you would just wish for every bloke that pulled on the jumper. His attack on the footy, the contest, pace, strength and clean ball handling is a great plus for the side. keep it up kingy, luv your work:thumbsu:

He has improved out of sight in the past 2 years, Dimma really was the right coach to get him to this place in footy.

put this way dude, at the time i kinda felt we were looking down the barrel and here the aints were with another shot for goal. Enter King, rough up, skirmish, ball turned over and we are back in the game. Say no more. I would go as far as to say we might be undefeated if he were there last week. ;)

His little wrestle was great, and his few important smothers.. he has been on fire with putting it in a good position for our forwards.. great effort to be coming off the ground, stop, take that mark and boot it inside 50 for jacko's goal.. he just has mungrel, that he can now control a bit better, and its paying off for us. love kingy :D

I love him too, him and Helbig both have mongrel coming out of their skulls, really hope he continues his form cos he is a crowd favourite no doubt

precisely what i was thinking cogg, you need flour to make a cake, our forward line needs kingy's mongrel attack to function properly in a real pressure attack mode..he plays that role well

He just goes at 100% every single time and I bet if he sees any of his team mates not doing it they get a spray. I loved how he ran into that little melee and picked out the tallest bloke and then threw him down to the ground, hes like the reverse Kevin Garnett.

I would suggest he's taken over from Richo as the new cult hero of the ferals. Love him to bits.

Anyone else think it's not just his game, it's the way the rest of the team responds when this little mongrel nugget with ordinary skills shows them what heart and commitment is? Thats leadership, no wonder he was named captain in the All Stars game.

Jake King - while i wont apologise for previous sprays, at this point in time, is our second most important forward. I am turning in my opinion of this bloke. Keep it up Jake.

He makes the odd error, but he & Jack are the type of players that with their enthusiasm can raise the intensity of the team with the way they go about it. It's hard to measure that value to the team, but you know Dimma values that passion and Tiger heads certainly value it in the stands. I know I do.

Yes we could bump some less endearing threads on Kingy from a couple of years back. He has really come of age for us. I am glad, I always liked him but he sure used to frustrate me.

I love the new version

I have actually ... in my own little brain ... rated Jake King as the "hardwick" barometer

Allow me to explain .

since the moment Damien Hardwick entered Punt rd.. he has done nothing but espouse the virtues of Jake King and his unashamed manlove for him ... to which , by and large , i have raised more than a cursory eyebrow to on more than one occasion .

Why does this coach rate such a "good ordinary" footballer so much ? Does Dimma seriously know what he is doing ? etc. etc. ... with the culmination of appointing JK skipper in our NAB cup side ...WTF ?

Since that point i have observed this "litmus" culminating with great interest centering on last night and you know what ? ... its amazing what the backing and confidence from your coach can do for your belief and confidence .

Last night was one of Jake Kings finest . As you very correctly pointed out Bo , the coach is now exploiting his strengths instead of exposing his weaknesses .;)

Its baby , incremental steps i know at this stage i know ... but i look at Dimmas faith and belief in Jake King and the way he has single handedly turned his career around and i reckon it is a real barometer as to where we are headed and its a win for mine .

On the outside it may appear to be only a very small and insignificant win in our quest to become an ever present power again but i personally place a lot more significance on it than most would .

Yes ... its only 1 game , but i will watch Jake King with great interest for the rest of the season

wise words my friend, on the same wavelength, how inspiring is Newy's form in last 12 months. He would seriously come off the ground absolutely smashed the way he puts his body on the line. I hope newy gets some reward for his heroics, he's leading by example and winning alot of fans ea week. Would love to see his name amongst Tiger legends one day...Lead the way newy

Dimma was asked on radio this afternoon about young Helbig. I reckon he almost had an audible orgasm at simply hearing the kid's name. Obviously sees similar traits in him that he sees in Kingy. His first actual words after being asked the question were something like... "Yeeeah, I love Brad".

Another one to keep your eye on ;)

Exactly.

His speed and desire gives us a huge advantage when the ball hits the deck inside 50. He also plays the joint role of negating opposition rebounding half backs.

His turnovers coming out of the backline were suicidial, but up forward with the big sticks hes alot better. Also he and dimma have worked on his game enourmously, he knows his limitations and is drilled into giving the ball to the better users in our team.

At his role he is borderline outstanding :thumbsu:
