I want a Carlton dynasty

I know i am probably getting ahead of myself but with the amount of young talent we have assembled i really feel we can do great things in the future. I don't know when the last time was that we had a Brisbane type dynasty? maybe if we have ever had won it was our 3 premierships in 4 years between 79 -82. I worry that Carlton ar enow content with just one premiership every 10 years or so. That is definetly the feeling i got with the 95 team. After they won the flag i didn't sense a great committment to achieve further success.
I am prepeared to tolerate losses now while why these kids our developing but i hope it is well truly grounded into them that we have nothing but the higest expectations for this group from 2010 and beyond. I want at least 5 premierships next decade. This is not unreasonable b/c it has happened in American proffesional sports.
I want Carlton to show the AFL that without any doubt we are the greatest club.

Our list may look good on paper, but lets be realistic and remember that it hasn't done very much out on the field where it counts.

Actually it is a shame BO was banned from TC. Would be very interesting what he would be saying about Collingwood's kids and Hine after last weekend. Toovey is a champ. Stanley has great VFL pace . Pendlebury is outside and half a level above vanilla. You don't build sides around your Thomas' and Pendlebury's but add them as icing on top. You build sides around Gibb's and Murphy's (of course they stood up on draft day and selected themselves). Bower didn't pick himself but quited the taller stronger Cloke, while having 20 touches and something like 7 R50's himself. The same weekend we also smashed the Collingwood reserves where most the Hine specials would have been playing

why? we have 3 no 1 picks on our list for FFS. If that aint the bais for a dynasty i don't know what is. Next decade will be a huge opportunity for us to put some day light between Collingwood and Essendon on the premiership ladder.

Agree. Whilst we played better against Collingwood with the exception of the last quarter I felt we were still playing like an average side. Good for us but average overall. Long way to go but at least a good start.

what we want and what we get are 2 different things.

to have a dynasty you need to have all positions covered and you need to have quality depth.

we are still a long way off haveing these 2 area's covered.

A true Carlton fan would never confuse the win in the 1999 preliminary final with the 2000 season.
