There has been a lot of lists that are asking, 'who are the top 10 or 20 players in the AFL?"

I think it's a bit hard to answer because you need to consider the age of the veteran's, injury problems, the big potential word etc.

So I put together a list of the 50 best players in the last three years. I did my best but imagine I have left plenty out (my apologies) ...

Please note that except for Judd I mixed up the list so it is not in order on purpose.

What I want to do is slowly remove people one at a time, until we have only 10 left.

To remove a player a poster must nominate someone off the list, then a second independent poster needs to confirm it. Then they will be removed.

Again I really do apologise if I have left anyone out.

1. Chris Judd
2. Barry Hall
3. Scott West
4. Joel Bowden

If some of you regulars can assist in providing updated lists I would really appreciate because work can often tie me up for large blocks.

I know you will feel that I have left some people off because it is harder than you think to squeeze them all in, but given we are aiming for a top 10 I don't think it matters really.

If there is someone glaringly obvious I will edit the main list.

Thanks

im not sure that Hird Voss or Buckley have been in the top 50 since 2004, perhaps just the lasting memories of their dominance causing a bit of bias there?

I second Hird, Buckley and Voss (chop them out).

I would like to nominate Luke Hodge.

Thanks.

So this is your best 50 from 2004, 2005 and 2006?

__________

It's difficult to see how you can have Neitz ahead of the other three KPPs I've highlighted - let alone have Aaron Davey ahead of Tredrea.

While you can argue the respective merits and achievements of Neitz, Riewoldt, Brown and Tredrea between 2004-2006 - how can you possibly justify having Aaron Davey ahead of an All-Australian CHF?

Dyertribe ...

Sorry I rambled but I mixed up the order on purpose.

Alas, the numbering got me. ;)

Either way, Davey has no business whatsoever being amongst such esteemed company.

Thus, I nominate Davey.

I'll second Hodge. Good player but not top ten material.

And if we're talking top ten the other obvious nominations (for me at least) would be Cross, T. Johnstone and Buchanon.

I could name another 5 or so but this'll probably work better if everyone only nominates a few.

Shame there's no Troy Simmonds, I thought he was in the top 3 ruckmen. Nathan Brown was dominant over 2004-2005 and probably played more games than Jon Brown (?)

Anyway I second nathan Thompson (he's good though)

Nominate Ben Rutten.

I second Bowden and nominate Mark Williams.

Gary Ablett and Paul Chapman seem like huge omissions to me also.
