Houlihan - for 2nd/3rd round draft pick

Keep Wiggins and Morrell for depth should the likes of Fisher/Teague/Livo etc. get injured. IMO, Morrel is a better forward than Longmuir and is more versatile. Wiggins is tough and can play a strongman tagging role or as a half back in situations when a recruit wouldn't have the required strength. Norman and Davies are talent and we should give them another year...as Pagan keeps saying, talent don't grow on trees. Chambers and Longmuir are on 2 years contracts but would be surprised if there is not some clause we can pay them out cheaply...at 25 and 26, neither are filling a role convincingly or show potential for further development.

As for filling the nine spots:
6 draft picks (rounds 1-5 plus priority),
Promote Smith and O'Hailpin
Go after Jason Cloke through the PSD or trade for low draft pick. Watched him on the weekend and would be much better than Prenderghast and Teague at playing tall floating defender and could probably do what Whitnall has been doing...also can play as backup ruckman. We might not need to use Cloke but he would be very handy to have if we have injuries or if O'Hailpin and Hartlett don't come along they way we would hope. This would mean we can plonk Whitnall in the goal square...and wouldn't be robbing Peter to pay Paul. I wouldn't be planning on getting any stars through the PSD. I would be surprised if we got someone like Bartel...but it would be nice.

I'd keep Campo, Lappin and Whitnall...don't think other clubs will offer what they are worth to us, but they should be paid as top 10 players but on two year contracts...maybe three years for Whitnall...with monetary penalties for failing to meet fitness targets.

Maybe I meant high draft pick...not sure... say a 3rd or 4th rounder. Wouldn't offer given he seems to be 5th in line as a tall backman at Collingwood (where we have 2)...maybe we could swap him for Sporn or someone else on the fringes!

I like what youve done here gandaal - would like Jesse Smith promoted off the rookie list however and fro the Blues to try for Pat Ryder from East Fremantle. Another late pick is Matt Priddis from Subiaco, he is dominating over there - is young, talented and skillful.
