Yeah ditto.

The Ling injury didn't look so bad, then again neither did Luke Darcy's at Skilled last year :( He looked upbeat on the bench at 3 Q time.

I didn't see what happened to Kelly. Hopefully he only jarred his elbow, I did that in a soccer GF and couldn't move my arm for a couple of days. Fingers crossed.

As Turbo said.

Every game is a risk - Still could have happened in NAB praccy game. (or jumping onto the beach at Lorne....or over the fence at the Torquay pub.....or falling on a garden stake whilst up a ladder)

Are you kidding? Injurys are a part of training, preparing, practice matchs etc.
We think we have depth in the midfield, well prove it.

We have depth in rotation. With Ling and Kelly out it will draw away from the forwardline (Chapman/Ablett) and the defence (Enright/Milburn). Never the less a big chance for Prismall to cement a spot. He had a quiet one tonight.

Apart from the goal I reckon Byrnes turned it over at least 6 times, 2 resulting in Adelaide goals. If he plays 10+ we won't make top 4.

LOL, EXACTLY!!

I would not give this back NO WAY!! We have to have a winning culture and we gotta start somewhere! Even tho it's "only" pre-season, the players got to go up get their medals, and get their cup.

Sure beats losing huh?

Or falling down the stairs at Eureka. Steve Johnson you idiot!

Haven't heard that one!! Spare me the details- but with SJ its no surprise.

The last thing the Cats needed was another honourable loss. There was no honour in loosing for Geelong.

We needed to bank a flag to get that stat removed from the media (9GF losses) - my god I can't tell you how much it ********ed me off this week - in every f-ing article and newspiece of the week.

No way would I give it back. We won something for the first time in my life.

We can cover these guys.

I wouldnt give it back, they'll be fine wont miss much at all if nething. Lingy would be distraught if it was serious, he wears he heart on his sleeve and I'm sure Kelly woulda been in sling already if his appeared serious also.Plus we have fantastic depth

I wouldn't give it back.

The paradox is that the win means so much to the club in terms of self belief, morale, membership, etc., but so little in the grand scheme of things.

Just suck it up and enjoy it. Ling and Kelly will be fine, I'm confident they weren't serious injuries.

lol - absolute gold - even the horror moments of the past sit well with me after tonights performance

to think i thought the world had come to an end when spriggs went down ... to think i didn't rate steve j when he broke his ankle ... and to think i thought 'who cares' when otto received every possible injury whilst playing at richmond ... to think id be sitting here tonight proud as punch that i witnessed geelong receive a form of trophy after only 20 years of my life - absolute fantastic - now lets forget the NAB and get the one sponsored by our good arch-rival car manufacturer - Toyota !!!

ford - ur still our number 1!

I would give it up either.

Like catempire said, this is an important win for the club in so many ways.

I'll echo that.

Will still be eagerly awaiting news on them, though, and hopefully they'll be right within the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see our best 22 out on the field carving it up.

I wouldn't. We haven't won a night competiton flag since 1961. And you say that we have Ling and Kelly out. Don't get me wrong, they are valuable, but we won last night without King, Ottens, Kingsley, Riccardi, Steve Johnson, Harley or Nathan Ablett. Those seven would be in our best 22. So my point is that we seem now to be able to cover injury pretty well. Don't worry, we'll be fine. I just hope that Ling's not out for the season.:)

Heard on the radio maybe 3-6. He did go up to accept his medal, so it cant be that bad!!

(also take into consideration that we got 2 weeks till the season, so he shouldnt miss that many games)

if Ling is out for 6 weeks you will struggle a bit, maybe a replicate of last seasons start?
of all the vic teams i prefer geelong as they arent from melbourne
all the talk (as it has been for a couple of years now) is that St Kilda are the victorians great white hope, i would pick Geelong as a more dangerous side than Sainters who are slightly overrated i reckon

Ling say he'll be right for round 1, Kelly said he'll be right in a few days.:thumbsu:
