Aussies must have voted per pound this year.
LMAOO@ A fat chick from Bendigo winning because she is white - joking.
I left Oz while this show was in its early stages(*thanks God*) but figured that the runner up would have clearly won the comp.
But who really GAF anyway

KATE DeAraugo was still elated yesterday after winning Australian Idol, despite only having 15 minutes of sleep.

The 20-year-old Bendigo girl will head to the studio tomorrow for a frantic six days to record her first album. "It's great to finally get into the studio," DeAraugo said.
"I met everyone from Sony BMG, and I can't wait for it all to begin."
Australian Idol suffered disappointing ratings, attracting 1.9 million viewers, compared with 3.2 million in 2004.
Industry sources said the lower ratings could have an impact on advertising for next year. As for DeAraugo, her life in the next few months will be frantic, travelling around the country to capitalise on her win.
She had the support of the whole of Bendigo, her family, and singing teacher Venetta Fields. For the last two years she has lived with her mentor on the Gold Coast.
"Venetta has taught me everything," she said.
"It's not only singing, but it's just amazing listening to her amazing stories."
Runner-up Emily Williams is relieved that the competition is finally over.
Williams said the pressure was intense, but she was proud of herself how she dealt with it. "The hardest thing was not to lose focus," she said. "It's really hard with everybody at you, but I wouldn't change anything."
As yet, Williams has had no discussions with Sony BMG, but if they don't sign her it is expected somebody else will.
