McIntosh also a beautiful kick of the footy. Could play forward as well.Glass v McIntosh is always a hard one for me. Love Glassy but Ash did the job more often than not against a pantheon of footy legends. I think I gotta go Ash his base athleticism is also much higher than glass.
Where have you got Darren covering Ash?
Bluey and McIntosh will mop em upHope the opposition don’t play any forwards under 6’3”

Mackenzie over Gov is a massive call.
Also, 5 tall defenders. And there's also the captain's call. Woosha's our best ever captain, but does he get a game? :O
I'd go:
FB: Wirrpanda Glass McGovern
HB: Hurn Jakovich McKenna
But far out it's hard. Would probably have McIntosh on the bench due to his versatility.

I don’t want to be the guy defending Buckley but this is a rollercoaster
This isn't too different to Liam Ryan hugging someone in the crowd after the Pies game tbh
That one slipped by due to the circumstances in his week leading up to it.
I think the rules each played under have a massive impact on their effectiveness as well (yes, I'm aware that NN has played under both sets).
3rd man up and the ability to drop a player in the hole at a CBD (i.e. no 6/6/6) diminish a huge portion of the value that Nic offers (obviously he has other strengths, but his tap-work is the best in the league). It's impossible to say how Cox would have gone with no 3rd man up...
Far out, we've had it good when, as a 34 year old club, we are having trouble fitting a brownlow medalist (Pridda) and Norm Smith medalist (Embley) in our all time best 22.
Don't know about "McIntosh also didn't make the full time move to FB until after Brennan retired in 1995". Macca played FB in the 92 GF while Monkey played at CHF. He also played CHB in the 91 GF on Dermie when he was 18.Better for longer in my opinion - At a snap shot - 4 AA and 3 B&F vs 1 AA and 1 B&F
McIntosh was a very (very) good player but Glass shades him.
McIntosh also didn’t make the full time move to FB until after Brennan retired in 1995, so spent a good chunk of his career swinging forward and taking the 3rd tall behind Brennan and Jakovich. The list of ‘footy legends’ that McIntosh regularly went toe to toe with would be comparable to Glass, considering that Jakovich took the CHFs and McIntosh rarely matched up on 90s peak Dunstall (Brennan) or Ablett (Brennan or Worsfold). He played late 90s on Lockett and was a better match for Modra once Brennan was nearing the end.
McIntosh was also a shadow of himself by 28 (circa 2001 - basically a liability unfortunately, bounced back a bit in 02 but was done by 03), where as Glass was AA Captain in his 2nd last full season, age 31.
Apparently the person he hugged was someone in his immediate family who he’s permitted to have contact with?

Think you will find that Macca was preferred FB from 92 onwards with Monkey moving to a pocket.

Was thinking which non-Premiership player would make the cut. Contenders for mine would be:
Phil Matera
Pridda
Nic Nat
Shep
Gaff
I'd have Ph. Matera in a forward pocket. I prefer Pe. Matera and Embley on the wings, so that's Gaff out (unless I put Embley on a HFF, I would have Gaff ahead of Mainy). Not sure Shep gets in ahead of the defenders already mentioned. Despite the Brownlow, Pridda is behind Judd, Cousins, Kemp, Kerr at the very least. Nic Nat would get a bench spot if I go with two ruckmen, but Cox has him covered as starting ruck.
I wouldn't say better, I reckon they are as different a player as Embers is to Matera.Gaff is a better player than Embley - I have Gaff on a wing and Embley taking the final on the bench (admittedly that cops and changes)
For the sake of it:
Wirrpanda Glass McGovern
Hurn Jakovich McKenna
Matera Kemp Gaff
Heady Kennedy Darling
LeCras Sumich Matera
Cox Cousins Judd
Kerr Naitanui Worsfold Embley
Then about 10 bloody unlucky.
