If it's over quickly

It's interesting whether the US will proceed with their war on terrorism and regimes throughout the world as they have implied over the past 2 years.

What countries are next on the list, are they prepared to continue even if they get bogged down and suffer heavy losses?

Agree 100%. Next stop Syria... can swing around from Baghdad without them ever knowing what hit 'em.

Hopefully they'll take out the current regimes in North Korea, Iran, Libya and Zimbabwe as well...

Jesus.

I think I'd better go to bed.

These people REALLY mean this ...

... and the scary thing is ... America will probably go right ahead and do what they're suggesting.

This would make George Bush the biggest megalomaniac since Hitler.

Correction ... it would make him a BIGGER megalomaniac than Hitler.

I'm actually getting quite worried now ... I think it's only just dawned on me how seriously ****ed up you people really are.

Good night ...

With that firepower surely it makes sense to take out Syria afterwards!

Terrorist centre of the world.

I'm with Coporal Fido.

Why should the US of A have Billions of dollars worth of WMD and not get to use them?

Syria have much in the way of oil????

Rather than invoke that favourite insult of the left, comparing right-wing leaders and supporters with Hitler, why don't you tell us why what we suggest is so crazy???

If you can't see that yourself, then there's probably nothing I can say to change you.

Quite clearly, Armageddon is here ... When the sort of view that lunatics like yourself are putting forward are accepted as mainstream commonsense, there is really no hope any more.

Typical Alf reply - nothing but insults. I've seen you complain bitterly about almost everything that happens but I don't recall you ever saying what you would do.
Tell us exactly what, if anything, YOU would do about Iraq.

Gee Fred, to be fair Alf isn't the only one resorting to insults, or is it like the war, the only victims are those on Bushes side.

I want to know what he'd do. The pro-war side don't need to say what they'd do as it has already happened. What would the anti-war/USA/Howard/every damn thing do?

You can add to the above:
Crean has said he'd agree to war if the UN approved it, but he knows full well they never will. Has he come up with an alternative? If he has, I've missed it.
There is no point at all simply opposing something on idealogical grounds if you can't offer an alternative.

Fred, I was only asking why you were having a go at Alf for resorting to insults, when the pro war people are doing it, that is what I wanted your answer on, the other issue has been done to death & is a brick wall scenario.

So you would be saying the same about quite a few leaders around the world that said the same thing..........

From most news reports I read it was to let Blix and the inspectors finish the job the UN Security Council asked them to do.........

I find it hard to fathom how the UN Inspectors were ever going to find something (if it exists) that the Iraqi's don't want them to find. I mean, I am sure they took down the street signs 'Chemical Weapons Storage Facility - 2 miles' some time ago. You can look in every building, known munitions factory etc etc but if someone wants to hide something in a whole country, I am sure they could do it. Hell, I could hide a gun in my house and it would take a group of people all day to find it. The UN Inspectors should have come with their buckets and spades to have a realistic chance of officially clearing Iraq of being in possession of these weapons.

Once again, I'm not saying they have got them or that war is the answer but taking a look out the back shed and filing a report on it wouldn't have had me sleeping too easily either.

Very true... anyone can poke a few vials of virus in their pocket...

This is not true. Being "pro-war" does not necessarily mean agreeing with US policy or UK policy.

In fact it is vitally important that the debate for post-war Iraq is kept alive.

A good reason for being "pro-war" is the utter poverty of "anti-war" argument.

Not one single reasonable alternative put forward. And the surreal sitution of people saying that a 2nd UN resolution would make war okay when the countries stopping that - France and Russia - are presently destroying Chechnya and the Ivory Coast with their UNILATERAL actions.

In fact the best alternative to war that has been aired has come from the United Arab Emirates - calling for Saddam to leave.

As for Alf - well, any socialist who calls for solidarity with Islamic Fundamentalism is not only a hypocrite but a weak hypocrite because he knows that the only reason Socialists and Fundamentalists can join forces in a common cause is when they live in a Liberal Democracy - and the cause is against Liberal Democracy.

HE was having a go at because ALL Alf has is insults. No argument. No alternative. Just hatred and bile.
