Anyone else? We beat the Saints next week we are guaranteed to overtake at least two teams, and Brisbane play Sydney which is worth noting. The following week we play Melbourne, which in all likelyhood should be a big win....

Not getting ahead of myself because it's still unlikely...just now it's less unlikely than before ;)

That's exactly my sentiment.
High Stakes Game Vs The Saints.
At the very least the boys are running out the season with some pride and cracking a ferw other teams final chances along the way. That was the most we could have asked for a month ago.
In Harvey, I Trust.:thumbsu:

This weekend's result has set us up so now can make the 8 with 11 wins. Mind you other results have to go our way again but if it's a possibility then the footy gods might yet make it happen.

I'll hopefully be excited about our chances at 3pm on Saturday. At this stage I'm not looking at finals just glad we're winning.

The 3 teams with a draw make it extremely unlikely that we'll make it with 11 wins. 11 wins is probably the worst possible outcome. No finals. No Masten. No Palmer.

We could, although we cannot lose to St Kilda. Lose that and it's all over. But win that, we may be able to afford another loss.

Makes the game against the Saints another grand final for us.

This week's game will be another piece in the mosaic that makes up the freo/saints rivalry.

That's what worries me. :(

But while we're still in with a chance, they have to keep going for it. Play like they have 3 of the last 4 weeks, and they'd have to be considered a possibility.

Stuff the draft picks, I want to see my team win!

I realise that 11-11 (for the 3rd year out of 4) is a bad outcome for the season, but that would be 5-2 under Harvey.

Bring on 2008 already.:D

Yes that occurred to me too...we came up short in away fixtures in 2004 and 2005. Better to lose against the Saints than to have to go through that again.

We could beat the Saints at Telstra, or Port at AAMI, but I doubt we'll do both. Too many losses already to make up for a strong finish to the season.:thumbsd:

But that's the thing, it isn't. We only need to win 3 more.

We really couldn't have had a better set of results falling our way if we had written the script ourselves. 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th all losing in the one round, what were the chances? Maybe the purple planets are finally starting to align?

I'm a bit wary of getting my hopes up yet though. The Saints were pretty good against Sydney. Certainly put up more of a fight than we did when we were there. Still, we usually match up pretty well against them so I'm reasonably confident.

I agree with that. His carnival form was great but he still has a lot of work to do to go any higher than pick 10 IMO. It will really depend on how other teams view their needs.

Palmer would (or at least should) be a priority for Fremantle but other teams may consider rucks/KP more important in which case he may fall out of the top ten. Even Masten could still be around at pick 5 or 6...

Phatom Draft on Big Footy started this morning if anyone is interested-
