I thought he really grew in stature today. 100th game, lot of focus on him during the week.

Interesting interview with Brett Kirk before the game on ABC, he said that he didn't think there were very many 100 game players running around that had been so consistently tagged from about his 8th or 9th game. Its a point I've made many times in his defence on these boards. For a shy skinny kid like him to play from game 1 in his first season of AFL and then in every game since if not injured. At a stronger club he would have been developed in the 2's and nursed into the senior team surrounded by big bodies. Hilly got pasted due to being in our first rebuild crop of 2008 and it has been unrelenting since then.

Kirk said that in terms of his character and desire to get the best out of himself Hill is elite. I look forward to seeing him in his prime in a strong Dockers team. My favourite player since I saw him in the first practice match he played. Has had his ups and downs but at his best is a true star of the competition.

I actually have a superstition where I watch the players run out and don't relax my vigilance till I see Hilly. I use his jumper number as the basis of my passwords and pin numbers and I wanted to name my Dog Stephen Hill but my wife vetoed it (true story). I have variously referred to him as the chosen one and the golden child. I like Stephen Hill :rainbow:

Im exactly the same, there is no player on our list that I have more of a man-crush on. love him

I'm away on holiday with the kids do I've not seen the game. Was he tagged and if so by whom?

No he wasn't. They had no one to go with him, as expected as soon as McGinnity was suspended.

After eating my words today.

Hill played an absolute blinder, and his footwork + speed completely r*ped West Coast's midfield. If it wasn't for the fact that on a few occasions there wasn't a forward target, he would have probably won the RG medal.

I agree. I was surprised but it was something he should've done considering how much space he had. Hilly was seemingly always around the stoppages and went on a few nice runs with it as well. Hopefully it'll give him a bit of confidence for game 101 against Richmond – there's plenty of space around the ground when Richmond play at the G. I'd love to see him go two on the trot and work himself into some confidence for the finals.

Because he is our biggest confidence player. That mental switch is the thing that dictates whether he's on or off. And despite giving him a rinse, I've always maintained that his good is very good. Here's hoping.

Really glad he had a great game on his 100th game but is anyone surprised he played a great game without a tag?
Not really Lach, most of us are pro Hill and realise that if you give the kid an inch, he'll run a mile, have a few bounces and kick a goal from 50. He just showed the importance of good tagger.

When he kicked that first goal i suddely thought "he's back"!!!!!
You could tell from that moment forward he grew a leg of confidence and started to run, carry and take the game on.
I really think hes been struggling for confidence in his ability to take the game on and i'm hoping with that goal we will see him take his oppurtunity to kicks goals more rather then give off like he has been.
