that as the pre-season has delivered some suprises (Walker, Duffield, Browne), the loss of Johnson and the Wiz may have some long term benefits down the track.

Two players who can slot back in at short notice, as fresh as a daisy and when we get to the business end should still be raring to go.

Anyway, just a thought...

True that, the thought had crossed my mind as well.

I'm thinking there are a lot of our top tier players entering the season with residual points hanging over their heads, and it wouldn't take much of an indiscretion for some of them to be facing a week or two on the sidelines...

Bell, JCarr, Des all have carry over from last year, Jeffrey will probably have a few left despite wiping quite a few off with his 6 weeks, maybe MJ too, Solly has about 90 with his reprimand, and now maybe MCarr as well.

The aggression and "we won't be pushed around of physically intimidated" line is all well and good.... but not if it means having half the team missing through suspension. :thumbsd:

Gotta agree with Imperial, theres no point proving we're tough if we're all sitting on the sidelines. Browne was a big shock for me, he's done really well and Duffield was running good too.

Johnson and Farmer will be missed, but I think the depth of our team shows we can handle them not being there

Dont know about Johnson, he kind of ran out of steam end of last year, and his start this year hasn't been too good either. Hopefully he can get himself right before he comes back, his form in the first 3/4 of 2006 when we were mostly doing **** as a team was pretty good. Could just be confidence.

Could also have something to do with his rising profile, and thus being paid greater attention by other teams.

If we get off to a good start and are able to bring in 2 of our best 18 in rounds 5 and 7 it could be a real confidence boost for the playing group.

Aslong as it isn't our top 6-7 players I won't be too bothered about some of our players getting rubbed out for a week or two through the course of the season. Obviously moments of madness that result in 6 week penalties and a 4 week penalty for incidental contact are frustrating though.

If Matt Carr does get a fortnight (haven't seen the footage) it shouldn't affect the side much. Who would he tag against port and the bombers?
