Great start by the Aussies on a rather predictable, massive turner.

2-86 after 12 overs.

Hayden and Gilchrist gone.

3-122 after 19 overs.

If we can keep wickets in hand, 300 is on the cards.

Something Symonds wasn't capable of before the WC.

Still, i think Bevan should have batted 5 given our approach.

Bevan and Martyn in... :o

My sentiments exactly.

Bevan needed to be in in the middle of the innings, not now.

14 runs off the last 5 overs is pathetic. We've gone from looking at 300, to more like 250.

It's probably a case of squad rotation mixed with the fact the pitch is a real turner and Clarke can bowl some left arm spin.

Australia: 4 for 254 after 45 overs, Martyn is playing really well.

Damien Martyn is bowled for exactly 100 in the final over.
Michael Bevan skies an Agarkar slower ball and is out for 42.
Michael Clarke is run out at the non-strikers end coming back for the second run, out for 1.
Andy Bichel is bowled for 1 off the last ball.

Australia: 8 for 286 off 50 overs.

The pitch is a real turner, with puffs of dust coming up after just about every delivery. India will have to pull something out of their arse if they're going to get close to our score.

The middle innings slump cost us at least 20-25 runs, but still, a very competitive score.

If the opening bowlers can get their line right, i can't see us losing.

It really is annoying watching Martyn and Bevan waste the final overs.

They really lack the innovative batting of someone like Lehmann.

We should have posted at least 300.

Damien Martyn continues to state his "gun" status, yet I still continue to dislike Bevan in the last few overs. A team such as India can score 40-odd in a handful of overs, that rarely happens with Bevan at the crease.

Bracken makes another early break-thru, Sehwag gone first ball. Incredible, Bracken has taken wickets - 1st ball, 2nd ball and 3rd ball in the 1st over of an innings - in the series!. Proves there are some lazy openers out there.

India 1/20 4.4 over

Bracken should have had 2 from 2 but no the second one, though being even better than the first, was not out. Williams also had Sachin out for LB but it looks like umps are not going for us tonight!!

I agree with you on Bevan he is sensational in a run chase but when we bat first he seems to waste overs.

Nathan's done his job well and looks a decent prospect. His stats so for:

N Bracken 10 0 53 3 v India 2nd ODI

N Bracken 9 2 25 3 v NZ 3rd ODI

N Bracken 10 2 29 4 v India 4th ODI

Pretty decent really!!
