Injury Ladder

Really bad reading for Doggies fans there. At least other clubs in poor form have some sort of excuse.

Is this players on the injury list, or...?

I think so, and it's only a vague indicator at best because it doesn't include all sorts of things such as

1. Players who have just come off injury but still can't be considered able to play
2. Players who are playing injured but probably would have a week off if they could (eg. Balla last week). Clubs with longer injury lists often have these sorts running around
3. Quality of injured players - would they be in the hunt for a game anyway.

to name three points. But it gives you some idea I suppose.

Just curious, I know we had 4 of our best 22 out injured today, but a cumulative ladder of games lost through injury would probably give a better indication of the clubs with bad injury lists.

Anyway, Fyfe has hurt his shoulder a few times this year already hasn't he? Think in the week before the Derby he was in doubt, same problem?

Don't know where I saw it but I read somewhere it is apparently his other shoulder, not the one in doubt before the Derby.

I was driving to the game yesterday and was listening to the first half of the first quarter on the radio. Apparently it was the shoulder he injured last week against Port.

This was roughly the state of play before this weekend. Its really to indicate how Freo has a problem and whilst some of the injuries are unavoidable e.g Suban, Barlow many injuries can come from stress over a period . For instance we had a very hot summer and had little rain. What are Freos training surfaces like? When did the injuries occur in a training session? Are the players doing full and correct warm ups?

Basically it could be misfortune but it needs to be investigated. If only a couple of these injuries could have been avoided or similar ones in the future prevented it could have a significant effect on the season result. This would also have notable financial consequences for the club.

I am sure the club looks into this however we had a lot on injuries last year if I recall correctly.

- the injuries were entire squad . I may have miscounted but its pretty much right I think

put it this way last year egirls had the worst skills, everyone said there spuds.

This year its the exact same players with maybe 1 or 2 different but due to gameplan they look much better.
You saw against collingwood under pressure there still the same crap skilled spuds.

So if we went back to our old gameplan that put so much pressure on the opposition all around the ground until they crumble under the pressure we would be looking alot better.
An as our players should have more skill than west coast we should be able to put up more of a fight against collingwood.

Injuries is nothing but a smoke screen.
Gameplan an player attitudes is what is hurting us an making us look average.

I agree with some of this, but in regards to the game plan, Collingwood has barely used their forward press so far this year. They use it for a quarter here and there but that's about it. Last year was much the same, they didn't really crank it up until after the mid year break.

We've been much the same to be honest. If anything given our injuries maybe we need to be even more conservative...

There are a few aspects of our gameplan and/or structure that are bothering me, not using the forward press for 4qtrs each week during the early parts of the season, is one of the few positives IMO.

Who gives a sh*t???
If we play with the passion and heart we did on Saturday it wouldn't matter if we are at the top or bottom of that list.

Well obviously not you.Perhaps you and others have misunderstood the post as an excuse thread. Its not about making excuses its the opposite. Its about making sure we manage players properly which perhaps we haven't been.

Its not about last weekends game either or the lack of effort which was apparent. That was one game this problem is ongoing.Perhaps think a bit deeper and read the preceding posts before jumping to conclusions and posting something offensive. And that also goes if you aren't interested. I fully understand why you are pissed off with Saturdays effort because I was too
