Who would you bring in and out this week against Brisbane?

My choices would be:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Out:

Chad Fletcher: 1 good game then several shockers, the story of his career really.

Drew Banfield: He is way down on form, match fitness and confidence. Its no use playing him, he won't get any better the way he is playing.

Phil Matera: He will get suspended, for how long I dont know, but he definetely won't be playing against the Lions.

Ashley McIntosh: Out injured.

Should consider themselves lucky:

Andrew Embley: see Fletcher, but he has been a bit better. He just needs to kick more goals.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In:

Ashley Sampi: He had 15 possies on the weekend and kicked 4 behinds. If he can convert those behinds into goals, he could be a handy addition.

Wooden: Played a blinder on the weekend.

Sierrakowski: if he is alright I would play him. I reckon Gaspar might be needed in defence this week.

Either:

Kane Munro: has been in quite good WAFL form and deserves a go.

David Haynes: see if he can bounce back. Played quite well on the weekend.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thoughts everyone?

I reckon your Outs are all better players than your Ins.

Since McIntosh and Matera are presumably out anyway, I'd bring in Sierakowski (if fit) and Sampi if direct swaps are required, unless the match-ups suggest something else.

Cox may get another go, and maybe drop a midfielder for a Humm or a Green. If Wooden was good, he'd also be in the mix.

I wouldn't bring Haynes back yet.

I'd bring Trent Carrol for Ashley.

Sampi for Matera (he's going to be rubbed out for at least 2 weeks I'd say).

I'd like to see Sierakowski on the side. His last year with St Kilda was very good, but we still don't know how well he can do for us.

I'm not very sure who to drop anyway. Perhaps Hunter who was criticized a couple of weeks ago for backing up a contest, and this week I noticed he didn't shepperd for his teammates when playing in defence.

I'd also like to see Humm given a go, perhaps for Banfield as suggested.

It will be interesting to see what changes Woosha brings.

Belgarion

OUTS:
McIntosh
Fido
Taylor (kick-ins been pissing me off, not needed in the midfield. Good bye!)

INS:
Green
Sampi/Merenda
Sierakowski

A defender and 2 forwards for a defender, midfielder and forward. Seems good to me. Or maybe bring in 3 defenders and FLOOD FLOOD FLOOD ;)

I can't see Fido gettting suspended but if he does it gives us a chance to see Sampi.
I expected Taylor to be suspended for a reckless tackle around Neitz'z throat. I would put Wooden in his place.
Without Tuckey I would move Hunter Forward and play Kasey Green in defence.
I think we are stacking the team up with one or two too many midfielders and not enough defensive cover so Carrol should cover for Milli or Gaspar with Sierra coming in at CHF.
I also like the two ruckman option with Cox in the team. Cox has also learned to drop a kick behind in defence, which is good.

Now all that is 'generalisation'. Against Brisbane we have to consider who can play against Akermanis, Voss and Black. Jones is an obvious one, Banners 'was' our best tagger. Maybe Humm could do a job..............mmmmmmmm........tricky.

Out:

Macintosh
Fido
Banfield - no confidence - must play in WAFL
Taylor (he is this year's Wooden/Carroll/Harding). He is yet to convince me that he is half decent.

In:

Carroll
Sampi/merenda
Humm
Wooden

** I would like to see Taylor go, but Woosha seems to rate him. It is times like these that we need Read or Morrison

*** Speaking of Harding, is he still listed, and if so, WHY?

Banners should be dropped but im not sure he will be. Jones and Banfield are our only taggers and considering Brisbanes midfield then West Coast may need Banfield to do a job.

I dont think Phillip Matera should or will be suspended but if he goes then the natural selection would be Sampi as Merenda is still injured.

If Banfield is dropped then bring in Wooden, Green or Humm to play in a back pocket. They can all do the job. Milli is also going to be out injured so Carroll should be brought in.

I was at traiing on last Wednesday with my two toddlers, who were more interested in the injured dove that was under the seats we were sitting in than the training, but Harding was there, as big as day. I noticed him next to guys like Prior and Humm - they were all kicking goals from the pocket at the end of training, and a difference I noticed between them and Harding is that he has virtually no muscle definintion in his arms. Is strength conditioning optional for Eagles players? I am sure he is very strong and fit, but....Why did they not drop him and use a pick in the preseason draft to steal Fabian Frances from Fremantle. I doubt Harding will see the Senior side tis year. He was pathetic last year, and everyone else has gotten better.

By the way, that open training session is a joke. The music blares so loudly from the Subiaco PA system that you can't hear anything, including yourself think. When I go I would like to hear what the coaches are saying to the players and what they are saying to each other, not the latest from Silverchair or whatever.

JOD The herald sun says that Merenda is available for this weekend!

I saw the Claremont vs West Perth match on the weekend and Trent Carroll was absolutely killed by Todd Curley. I really dont want to see him be promoted to the AFL side if he can't even beat his opponent at WAFL level. Still, we are lacking a tall defender and he played fairly well in testing times for us last season.

I heard on the news a few days ago that he would still be out for a week or two. If he is ready to go, bring him in, i like him. Although we do need to blood Sampi at some stage?

Two weeks is spot on for Matera, Belgarion.

I was the one who was a little critical of Hunter and I agree he was lazy again against Melb.
I like to see Sampi have a go here, his form in the Wafl has been good and I think its time to bring him into the side....

IMO Banners needs to be dropped, he is simply a liability to the side at the moment and that is no disrespect to the champion, he just needs to find his feet.

We need another ruckman in the side and I think Sierra needs to come into the side for the Coasters to allow Gardy a bit more freedom around the ground, he is our best avenue to goal at the moment.

I saw on the sport tonight that Woosha was throwing Kane Munros name into the selection hat, saying the club was not only looking at a replacement forward for Phil Matera but also a player who can move up the ground and play in the midfield. Kane's been doing a good job with Swan Districts this year so he might be listed as an emergency/on the bench.

Not a big wrap on Munro myself. I think someone so small like he is needs to be pretty damn special to make it at AFL level, and I just cant see him ever being that special.
