Cheers, will look that up.

Have a full bottle of tablets to get thru then will move onto the spray.

just googled - did you just purchase online or in a store?

a friend purchased online. I'll get back to you as i think it's cheaper if you buy 3 at the one time... I'll ask him where he got it.

I'm having really annoying issues with it at the moment. I recently quit smoking and have amped up my caffeine levels as a replacement (srsly bad idea) so I understand why, I just needed somewhere to bitch as it's 3:58 am, been up for almost 21 hours, yet I'm wide awake. It's kinda good though, I've been rehashing and practising my limited German speaking skills, been getting in some random walks in the middle of the night, and even started doing a bit of yoga in the mornings before work.

I reckon I'm in for one almighty crash :D

I'm one of those lucky bastards who can sleep anywhere, any time. On the odd occasion I can't get off too sleep, a glass of milk and a good read soon fixes things.

What is it about 4 in the morning? Every night at 2 then 4 I am up. Absolutely buggered by morning and exhausted all day but at about 4 start to reset my body clock and am awake by night.

i did an all nighter last night (purposly and not drug induced) so been up since about 10am Sunday morning and am in quite a strange state at the moment, will fall asleep anywhere I stay still long enough

Its quite a nice feeling (the early morning is the worst when the sun comes up), I know when I go to bed in about an hour its going to be so sweet

So maybe just give up on sleep for a night, dont try, just find things to do, then come the next night if you're anything like me you'll be fighting to keep yourself up

I'm suffering from insomnia again now myself, it's bloody annoying.
Mine is due to anxiety as before I used to be able to hit the pillow and I'd be asleep within 20 mins.
Probably didn't help that I sometimes had bad sleeping patterns and would nod off on the couch watching tv shows at silly times.

Any advice for someone suffering insomnia due to anxiety? I'm seeing the doc tomorrow but hoping I sleep solidly tonight.
Had a hot bath, did some meditation, cut out caffeine completely and I have relaxation sounds on phone ready to go.
Wish me luck.

As you lie down in bed, think about all the inane and silly things you saw today....how that leaf was folded up at a corner, that crack in the bitumen path, the coke lid on the ground, etc etc, just rifle thru them, and soon you'll fall asleep.

This is a fail safe insomnia beater having struggled with it for decades till I found this trick.

Thinking and seeing in your head important stuff keeps you awake. So you have to think and see all the unimportant silly things in a day instead.

I'm the queen of insomnia...I've found melatonin has helped a lot. That and not using phone/computer at least 30 min before going to sleep. Still waking up a few times a night but definitely feel more refreshed in the morning.

I got prescribed melatonin for my insomnia, haven't bought it yet as it was abit expensive.
Worth it? Would love to get back to sleeping solidly through the night.

I just turn on a Survivorman episode on my laptop. I don't remember sitting through a full episode (40 mins) in bed before being out like a light.

Despite the research which suggests otherwise, I can fall asleep whilst staring at a laptop screen and within 1/2 and hour of drinking a coffee...

I reckon that I would wake about ten times a night atm..

That sucks :(
I was like that just recently as well, like I was going to sleep anxious and it would wake me up in the night.
Now I sometimes stir around 4am or so but then just go back to sleep.

Any particular reason you think for your awakenings?

Had a few things on my mind but even when things are going well I'd probably still wake up a few times, has always been like that. Sleep a hell of lot better when I'm swimming laps but the pool closes for winter out here.

A lot of good advice on here especially exercise (but not too close to bed time!). I had insomnia for a long time, one thing I found really helped me overcome it was finding a good podcast, somebody you find interesting and enjoy listening to. For example, I'm a big MMA fan so every night when I hit the sack I put on a Joe Rogan Experience or Fighter and the Kid podcast. I think listening to podcasts are great as its usually just 2 people talking about interesting topics which allows me to stop thinking about all the other crap that stresses me out and just listen. It used to take me 2-3 hours to get to sleep, since I started podcasting I am asleep within 30 mins

Anyway, won't work for everyone, just a suggestion :thumbsu:

I'm sleeping like a baby nowadays, those melatonin tablets helped me and getting on top of my anxiety helped.
I sometimes go to bed a bit late if but I have no issue falling asleep now.
May as well enjoy it while I can as my missus is due to have our 2nd child any day now!

I fall asleep easier than I ever have, but I often wake between 2 to 4 and cannot go back to sleep.

Unrelated: I rarely drink heavily these days but when I do I cannot sleep past 6am (even if I get home at 3), when I need the sleep in most I cant......weird

currently into the 3rd week of this. Absolutely shagged all day and night until I go to bed. Thoughts kick in and the restlessness starts, I can never get to sleep before 2am and I have to be up at 6 so I'm getting feck all sleep. Anyone who has gone through this have any tips to relax the mind before bed? I've tried a warm bath quiet music but hasn't had any success.

This usually makes me sleep like a baby...

I find it extremely hard to fall asleep usually around 1am or so for the past 2 years. My body clock has just adjusted and TBH I don't think it will ever be the normal times most people sleep. I've tried Magnesium, sleeping tablets (and deliberately overdosing) and I work out so not sure what else to do.
But once I'm asleep I never wake up during the night until the alarm goes off. Just trying to sleep is the hard part for me. Sucks a lot as my eyes are screwed up form it with a baggy look starting to develop...

With headphones or not? I used to have insomnia but then started falling asleep with headphones on while listening to podcasts or various sounds (waterfalls and rain turned out to be the most helpful) off YouTube. Has to be a comfortable pair, though, that isn't going to rub your ears too much or apply too much clamping force.
