Spent an hour or so with Carlton heavyhitter (PM me if you want to know who - Carlton support only) who informed me of a few interesting points regrading our recruiting:

1) Brown no chance of coming to Carlton
--- not because of anything other than he has no intention of leaving Brisbane

2) Not confident of getting Warnock
--- didn't seem huge priority either

3) Kerr wants $1M per year and he is definitely on the market
--- We are in the box seat and I quote "The only thing holding us back is doing an acceptable deal with WCE". He wants to come to Carlton and the main reason is Juddy.

4) Club views current year performance as being over and above where they expected - obviously very happy about it

5) Club views recruiting priority as 2 KPP (one defender and one forward) and ruckman

6) Jamo and Juddy will be having shoulder ops in the off season (Judd's is very minor) but Jamo would've been in for surgery had we lost against the Bulldogs

See ya

PS

Gee Kerr coming to carlton is really getting some legs, he is a superstar who we all kidding? If he came to carlton we would cream ourselves.

We have more than enough room in the cap, so money isn't a problem, just can't sell our soul to get him, which the CFC is well aware of.

Im confident Kerr will come to carlton next year.

I'd say Kerr is worth $550K-$600K per year in the current market. I doubt he would be putting a $1M price tag on his head if he is that desperate to leave....

Wow.

It would be remarkable, and insane thats for sure.

Imagine the jealousy?

Btw Pie Squasher could you pm me the name? Very interesting indeed.

Still not convinced about the merits of getting Kerr, although he is an absolute star. I still can't see the upside at all in Warnock. The games I've seen him play he is no more advanced than Hampson IMO. If we go for a ruckman, needs to be experienced and big-bodied.

I would also be interested in the name of the club contact - please PM me.

Cheers

PS

1. Makes sence. But there has been a great deal of ground work done.
2. Wornock will be a priority to many club therefore Freo will be taking the best offer made... A case of getting more than he is worth i think.
3. Kerr is not worth $1 Mill, already signs of selfishness... Dont want him anywhere near our club.
4. They under-budgeted this year accordingly. A profit was always on the cards.
5. Cant understand how they are going to get it if they are after Kerr or Brown.
6. Jammo said in an interview after a game that he will be going under the knife at years end. Judd a clean out, which i hope enables him to play without strapped shoulders.

7... i doubt you will but can you message me the name too... cheers

If we do a deal and get number 3, where are we going to obtain 2 KPP from? I mean surely we would have to give up 1st round pick for kerr + something substantial

IMO we keep the picks, but meh....if we got Kerr well I wouldn't be complaining :p

Signing Fev means JBrown is not a target, if he ever was.

Kerr is not worth anywhere near $1m. Nor is he worth selling the farm for. He would, however, walk into any team in the league's centre square, including ours, and make it better. I think the Tigers should sell the farm for Kerr. He'd improve them greatly. I think we need about 2 pieces and 2 years to be the team we want to be.

PS

I think we would much rather try and trade for a KPP or two instead of going for Kerr, yeah sure our midfield would be indestructable if we add kerr to it,but you would think we would use our trade for a KPP.

Also id hate to think who(Tex? +1st rounder:thumbsd:) we would have to give up for Kerr, and is definitly not worth 1M per year.

I wouldnt mind a PM of that contact:thumbsu:

Shoulder strapping has almost become part of the Carlton uniform :o

Carlton Shop has most numbers available with prefabbed shoulder strapping. No extra charge which is nice. :thumbsu:

Kerr would be good but no way in the world is he worth $1 million a season especially if Fev cost us $750K.

I have no doubt that Walker will be used as traid bait for any prospective trade.

Madness....sheer madness.
I don't consider Kerr worth 1M/Yr,no way!
Tell me how he would slot into the team(and who makes way in the midfield??)
We'd be better off throwing up to 1M/Yr at a KPP Backman or two!!
