i dont have any quotes but i heard that sheeds spoke at our club launch the other day

apparantly he was implying that we need to bite the bullet with some of our younger players before our window closes and that a few of the older guys have had their shot and failed

i agree whole heartedly with what he said but i thougth it was interesting how he said it so publicly

He said that you have to continually play young blokes to freshen your list and to avoid bottoming out and having to rebuild, or words to that effect. At the same time though he supports our decision to select Mark Johnson and Kepler Bradley, so it kind of looks like he's having a dollar each way.

My take on the comment was this,

Under CC we had some protected players who would not be dropped under any circumstances.

Under Harvs, that will not be the case, good WAFL form will be rewarded and poor AFL form will result in WAFL time, regardless of name and reputation.

My opinion only.

Not sure what "your take" has to do with Sheedy's comments.

I will be surprised if we blood more young players this year than we did in most years with Connolly. Palmer will get a game. Most of the others likely to get a game have played.

Interesting comments by Brian Taylor on Fox league Teams...

Sledged Bellie stating a little biride had told him the club is quietly happy to have Bell in Gero as he is too much like hard work and it will be good for the younger guys to develop without undue influence from him....

What's the problem - the ultra professionalism? The attention to detail in his preparation? The intelligence? The clean living? Sounds like terrible things for a senior player to be imparting to the young guys...

Would it be better for a club to have the likes of Cuzzy around as an ex-captain? I mean how long did he last as an influence on the younger developing guys like Kerr, Waters, Lynch before they finally arsed him??

What exactly did he mean?

He was insinuating that the club thought he was a pain in the arse.

Liam Pickering basically told him he was talking shit

Yeah I got that... but why?

Sounds like Pick-yer-ring was on the money.

If they thought he was so detrimental to the young blokes, they would have packed his bags for Gero themselves...

So Taylor reads BF as well :(

That is the downside of forums like this.

The usual suspects take potshots at players on their respective team boards.

Players that are legends of the game like Peter Bell, then knobs like Taylor hear from "little birdies".

All done with the bravado of some one hiding behind a keyboard.

Gutless.

..........and deserve less oxygen.
