I've only flown Qantas, United and Singapore, and Singapore were the best by an absolute mile.

Great food, heaps of fantastic Thai beer, plus you get to go to Thailand at the end of the flight. this makes up for the lack of in flight entertainment.

I had a fantastic flight with Malaysian airlines once. It was just a short flight in Sarawak, Malaysia in a small plan but it went past some really interesting rock monoliths. We asked the pilot if we could take a closer look and he said it was no problem. He then titlted the plane so that we got a better view, then did a circle around the mountain so we could see again, this despite the plane being an hour and half late on take off. That in itself was a good thing, considering as I'd only woken up 10 minutes before the due time in a bed approxiamately 2kms away from where I was staying. The pilot then nearly crashed into a tree when landing, but he apologised.Richmondfan#1 said:I'll be flying KLM and Malaysia Airlines, economy, later this year. maccas_no1 said:KLM a trip to www.airdisaster.com should do enough to put you off them, they seemed to have 'incidents' they were also a 'player' in the worst ever air disaster in the airline history when their 747 crossed into the path of a Pan-Am 747 while taking off killing over 500 people.![]()
Richmondfan#1 said:Yep, damn that website. KLM's last crash was in '77 which reassured me. Although I guess they're due for one now aren't they!

guess_who said:Just out of curiosity those who voted for QANTAS have you flown with any one else? If so who?
Raskolnikov said:As I said I have flown all the options except Garuda and KLM. Of that lot QANTAS are the best.
However there are three airlines that are not on that list that I have flown that I consider better than QANTAS - Lauda Air, Northwest and Aeroflot.

Personally i think their saftey record and their pilots ability or inability to speak the international language required in aviation speaks for its self. Perhaps also the fact that they are banned from many countries in the world as a result of poor quality equipment, pathetic saftey record and the list goes on.
