Very competitive for Championship. Maybe League 1?
Yengi was at Portsmouth and I rate him better than Mo Toure. Unfortunately he has gone backwards and is at Aberdeen.

League 1? Lord no. Championship, Ligue 1, Netherlands, Portugal, even Bundesliga needs to be the next step.

Also Segecic ahead of McGree if he keeps up his Pompey form.

There's so much options now.

Of the old guard I reckon only Goodwin offers something off the pine.

Not sure we need Boyle, Duke, Taggart any longer. Forward options of Toure, Yengi, Segecic and Botic younger and better.
All quality serviceable players but on the wrong side of 30.

May be harsh but I'd probably leave Behich out too. Both Bos brothers have overtaken him.

However it is difficult to leave Aziz out of 26 after that goal against Japan and this will probably be his final hurrah for the Socceroos.

So based on current form and if players return potential starting XI at World Cup could be?

Ryan
Miller Circati Souttar Burgess Bos
Irvine Metcalfe
Irankunda Toure McGree
Why 3 CBs.. don’t get the obsession. I’d rather a defensive mid covering. Have 3 CMs before CBs.
Irvine
Metcalfe Hrustic

Just basing it on Poppas preferred line-up which I doubt will change. Agree Robertson in the mix but only been capped twice and still not sure he is even committed to Australia?

Segegic time will come, will be in the squad you would think if form keeps up, but he hasn’t even been capped yet.

Behich definitely goes for mine unless he falls off a cliff this season. Geria probably has to go to as we need another RB.

Balard is the other one clearly in the mix to start based on last two games.

Man, if that Irankunda goal had gone in…

What is his current outlook?

The way I was reading it, he has largely turned his back on the Socceroos...

That'll change. His other options aren't exactly great. USA 26 followed by Asian Cup 27 is a pretty big drawcard. Having said that it isn't critical we get him onboard with all the talent we have.

Someone like Triantis has looked at all the existing midfield plus talent coming through and decided it's probably easier to get a game with Greece.

Irankunda. Don’t think we’ve had a player like him, if ever. Guy is a talent.
Agree, no one's had that complete mix of power, pace and technique. The greats all maxed out at 2/3.

If we can keep his head in the game and outta his arse till that frontal lobe closes, look out.

Very one sided is his only weakness. I expect he's working on his left peg overtime. A decent opposite foot is needed these days for wingers.
