MAC filtering would explain it. With that feature, don't you have to input the certain MAC addresses for each computer wanting to access the network. Would just mean you would have to put in the MAC address of the iPhone into the exception list, or something to that effect.

What started off as an interesting exercise is now really starting to **** me off.

OK, so I jailbreaked my 3GS 3.1 with blackra1n...and that all went very smoothly.

But I'm genuinely confused as to how to install cracked apps now. Can someone more tech-savvy walk me through it or link to a non-jargony tutorial?
 
MDC here is sblacks how-to. Was really easy once I followed this.

First open Cydia and goto the Manage tab. Hit the Sources directory, then goto Edit and click the '+' to add a repo. Type in cydia.hackulo.us and hit Add source. It will say something about illegal apps, ignore it and hit yes.

Once it updates, goto the Changes tab and there will be some new apps. Que the Installous package and the AppSync for 3.0 package. This will download the patch that bypasses Apples check that you purchased the app.

Once those have downloaded and installed you are ready to go. You can either download apps on your computer and then use iTunes to sync. Or you can use Installous on your iPhone to get them directly.

If you want to use your computer, the site hackulo.us is the ultimate site for cracked IPAs. It's the same site that Installous uses. Usually within a day of an app appearing in the App Store, it will pop up on there.

or go on a plan (or check eBay). I'm on a $49+5 24-month plan and I think I'm on a pretty good deal. I don't have a home phone so my iPhone is all I have. Couple it with the iiQuota program and you can avoid ever going over your maximum monthly spend.

JB yesterday, installed Cydia, Winterboard and SBSettings. Now whenever I have to respring or turn off and turn on my phone, two settings are always set to:
- Use 3G is OFF
- Email is PUSH

Is there a way to get around this?

Okay finally figured it out, it was the Mail plugin for the LockScreen. Turned that off and the settings persist.
 
Geared v1.1 available today
- 40 new levels (81/120)
- can play 5 levels ahead
- new gear outline tool
- reset button
 
For anyone who's considering jailbreaking, IntelliScreen alone is worth it.

Push emails, SMS, weather and Calender all accessible from the lock screen; including being able to reply to anything etc...absolutely brilliant app.
