Movie Iron Man 3

As an Iron Man fan I was bitterly disappointed.

The whole Mandarin thing being an actor was just a joke. The regenerating lava people villains was terrible.

Iron Man was a great movie....sequel was good, not as good as first one......3rd movie average, 18bucks I'll never get back.

I was not a fan of this movie. Massive let down.

Had low expectations going in, didn't know the plot and hadn't seen the trailer and was still left dissapointed.

Can't figure out the *spoiler* option, so I won't go any further into it.

[ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] without the spaces.

Agree with Dan,
was MASSIVELY let down with the Mandarin twist. Was looking forward to seeing the rings of power and how he'd work with Guy Pearce etc. That whole reveal scene I was hoping "So the real Mandarin's about to walk in, right?". But no. So, so disappointed. But the fact that I still loved the film so much is a testament to Shane Black. Can completely understand why fans of Iron Man lore would absolutely hate this film though.

Thanks mate.

Like others I hated the Mandarin 'sketch'. It was so tacky and reminded me of something from the 90's Batman franchises. I also thought where he made all those gadgets was like watching Home Alone. I never engaged with the villans or their powers and it truly lost me when Guy Pierce breathed fire.... But my biggest gripe was the ridiculous amounts of flying Ironmen at the end.

Rant over.

The 1st movie is similar but on a smaller scale. No real world wide threats like in IM3 and the battles are more personal. I really enjoyed the political backdrop to Tony's struggle with Stark Industries and weapons manufacturing in Iron Man. It's the best IM and IMO the best of all the Avengers related movies including the Avengers. The 2nd one was average.

Iron Man 3 was very good. There are a few plot holes you can nitpick at the movie but when you recall the movie most of them are answered, it could have done with trimming some story 'beats' to keep that down to a minimum. It's a good action movie with some great action pieces and great humour, Stark's emotional story arc is a bit tacked on I felt compared to the first movie but is certainly better than IM2.

My ranking of the Marvel universe movies would be:

1. Iron Man
2. The Avengers
3. Iron Man 3
4. Thor
5. Captain America
6. Iron Man 2
7. The Incredible Hulk (maybe I need to re-watch this but I didn't really enjoy this, it just left me feeling quite empty like there should have been more of everything).

I liked this film because of it's change of pace. Iron Man 2 was the worse of all the Marvel movies for me, just a mono-tone superhero flick. This is more violent, more emotional and more funny than even the original. It doesn't have the revolutionary brilliance of the original Iron Man film and not too many sequels can recreate the original aura.

Iron Man films have always been the most removed from the Avengers/ Marvel expanded universe. No extensive plot tie-ins and a conclusion that does nothing but ensure his involvement with Avengers 2 in 2015.

I have mixed feelings. I thought the twist was excellent, but can see how people who are IM fans would consider it a waste. Agree that the Extremis villains were a bit crap. Also had a lot of trouble working out what exactly the main villain's motive was supposed to be. It really didn't seem to make a lot of sense. Also, the final battle was a bit much. I like the suits being used sparingly.

But the acting and the dialogue is great and the whole movie is just a lot of fun. Same as the Avengers. Kick back, relax and switch off your brain for a couple of hours.

Lol this.
I really enjoyed it. Agree, some thin plot holes, more than made up for with terrific acting and dialogue nbetween the actors.
Sometimes its good to just pay your $21 to sit, enjoy and not over think.

Haven't seen this yet...

I loved the original Iron Man movie. Didn't particularly expect to but I found it really entertaining. I think I've seen it three times now and enjoyed it every time, which is very rare for me because usually just the thought of watching a movie more than once fills me with boredom.

But I found the sequel really underwhelming, to the point that I got bored halfway through.

That pretty much robbed me of any motivation to go see this one. Interesting mix on here of people thinking it was crap and those saying it was better than the 2nd (though I guess the two aren't mutually exclusive).

Since no one except the OP rated it better than the first I'll probably just wait 'til I can stream it.

Better than 2.

Thought Kingsley was good but i'm gutted they did that to the Mandarin.
Pmsl when the terrorist laughed at Rhodey's password
Malibu assault the highlight of the movie

Avengers
Iron Man
Captain America
Iron Man 3
Iron Man 2
Hulk
Thor

I enjoyed this, I like how they actually refer back to Avengers incidents.

I have no attachment to comic book lore so I couldn't care about the twist. I found it interesting.

What I didn't like was the enemies as a whole, I found it just one huge cop out so they could kill anyone and just bring them back.

Better than 2, worse than the original & Avengers.

Probably better than most of the Marvel fleet though.

went to the midnight screening, loved it..

although the whole anxiety thing was piss weak, everyone knows Starc deals with alcoholism

Saw it last Friday, a vast improvement over the second one but not sure if I like it more than the original.

Saw last night. I think I rate 2 a bit more then this one.

What I liked:
- Director Shane Black was in Predator.
- Probably the entire first half of the film up until the Mandarin twist. I even didn't mind the kid helping Stark out (and I usually hate those kinds of things).
- Cheadle's performance was much better in this film than in IM2. He really felt tacked on in that one.
- The guy from IM1 who helps Tony escape early in the piece was in the flashback scene at the start of this film.
- Man of Steel trailer before the film.

What I didn't like:
- The Mandarin twist. Funny, yes. But destroyed a character that would have been a much better antagonist and made the film much more epic. Was just a massive let down.
- Guy Pearce. I don't know, maybe it's the whole him being in Neighbours things. I can just never get used to him as a Hollywood performer.
- Tony conveniently has all these extra IM suits stored away for the end. Was basically IM2 final fight in reverse.
- Waiting until the end of the credits for a really mediocre final scene.

The most annoying thing about Guy Pearce was him wearing short suit pants and shoes with no socks.

Is this some new fashion trend I am unaware of? Was bloody distracting.
