The split up between gaz and loz was fake. It was a publicity stunt to divert attention away from his decision. The media was being played.
Andy lee and MG were never really an item. Great PR for both. A business transaction.

Bomber started planning his exit the moment he knew Frank was retiring from the Presidency. He and Cooky do not get along and he feared for his future once the protective arm of Frank wasn't there. He declared this on several occasions to those a'holes at Essendon. I also think he had lost his appetite for the Senior Coaching role which made his decision not to stay and box on easier.
This circumstance and the GC coming into the equation just amounted to crap timing for the Club.

I can't stand to look at the ex 29 for Geelong. It is less hurtful to say traitor than Ablett.
ATSAM; I dont recall Costa mentioning the other players who had already signed with the GC before the end of 2009, well before the start of the 2010 season. The media got all the players right who had signed, so it stands to reason they got it right about the particulars also that those players all signed an agreement to lock them into playing for the GC in 2011, whilst they were playing for other clubs in 2010.
Thompson said he felt Ablett had already made up his mind during the 2010 season itself, which dictated his own behaviour towards Ablett. Obviously frustrated it appears Bomber adopted a similarly duplicitous approach to the club to make his own point; in the same dishonest fashion as Ablett.
The problem I think Costa has in coming to terms with all this is that he had always felt Bomber was an honest person and Ablett loved Geelong. As it turns out Bomber was dishonest and we all just have to accept that Ablett really couldnt give a shit about Geelong, or why would he treat the players and club in the manner that he did?

Let's also not forget the GCs clockwork-like acquisitions of the 3 people most important to Ablett at Geelong - Hinkley prior to the 2009 finals, Nathan (although no longer listed, was still a major part of the deal from Gary's end) early in 2010, and Dean Robinson mid-2010. I believe the Robinson poaching was the straw that broke Thompson's back, since not only did it mean a lot of Geelong's intellectual property was about to be disseminated, but also that it proved to him beyond all doubt that Ablett had made up his mind and was just killing time until the end of his contract. How many times over the course of last year did we hear Thompson say words to the effect of "Ablett has probably already decided what he wants to do" - here's the hint: because he had.

Frank is dillusional
He is starting the PR machine to enable Judas to return on retirement to earn more money from Geelong people. He thinks because he says so it is so. If Bomber was the issue, Bomber would have been asked to go. Costa loves Judas.
And Judas approached GC before any issue with Bomber started. And the overseas holiday bonus for 24 people was a signing bonus.
People need to comprehend the agendas out there.

If you want to talk about Guthrie start a thread, or argue your case why Ablett's behavior wasn't deceitful and disloyal without lowering yourself to attacks on the poster. Also keep in mind that "jealousy" is a pretty poor tangent to follow.

Or did daddy read the story in the paper while you sat in your high-chair, sucking your bottle (I always knew you sucked, but c'mon). I hear that when daddy read to you about Ablett's defection, you were more interested in the pictures. Also, you didn't get to hear your daddy finish his bedtime story about Ablett's defection, because you needed your nappy changed.
