I went to the game against the roos and i have noticed not just from this game but Benny always stands outside of the packs for the ball to come to him and he never tackles an opponent, it seems like he is to scared he might get hurt or wreck his hair

Opinions?

EAGLESSSSS

I don't mind hearing those comments, but I do object to this last one regarding messing his hair. We are supporters of a club that he happens to be captain of and is a favourite to many people.

But aside from that, he definetaly isn't a guy you are going to see regularly at the bottom of packs, but thats ok - that is the way he plays.

THere are different styles of play, and as I've mentioned recently, we have the perfect balance in our midfield at the moment. Kerr and Chick are the hard in and under guys, Fletcher's the all round guy who'll do whatever you want him to do, Cousins is the guy who'll swoop on any loose ball, and Judd is the guy who'll do nothing for 3 quarters, but win a match in 5 minutes.

All players have their various styles.

Cousins sums up a situations perfectly from outside a pack, and has a great ability to judge where a ball is going to come out of it, hence the reason he picks up so much ball. There is nothing wrong with that. I'd much rather him play to his strength rather than go deep into packs and not win the ball because he's not playing the way he's best at playing.

Cousins has never been an in and under kind of player

I wouldnt lable him weak or soft, you only have to look at his work rate OFF the ball to see he pushes himself harder than most AFL players. Thats why he ends up with so much of the ball. The guy is tagged like crazy a lot of the time and deals with a lot of tough physical stuff off the ball you dont see. Another thing to look at with Cousins is the way he plays through injuries. A lot of lesser players wouldnt have been out there today after what he did with his ankle.

He might not be in and under the way Kerr is, but he certainly isn't a loose receiver. Next time you go to the footy watch him closely, they guy often contests the ball in heavy traffic. The guy is as hard at the ball as you would expect a running midfielder, but because he is considered to be a 'pretty boy' most people label him soft.

Liberatore wasn't a tagger, he was one sick dog.

If a dog with rabies but you in the a-- you would cry too.

Dogs don;t care where they do their business as well. Libneratore is no exception when he get fined for urinating in the player's race - who would want to walk in urine???

I'm surprised there is no regulation for animals playing in football.

Except 1 to your post count eh jod? ;).

There is no way after yesterday's game you'd call Cousins weak. Was probably only second to Chick for effort all day.

I would never call him weak - he just plays a different brand of football to Kerr and Fletcher.

They are the in and under hard ball players who have to work around the packs to get the ball free.

Cousins is your typical loose ball player, getting the palm away from Gardiner or swooping on the ball that has been tapped free from a pack.
