Watching Geelong on the weekend I was struck by some similarities with our mob.

Steve Johnson had a problem with grog and toeing the team rules. Cam Mooney is perceived as ill disciplined. That was in the past, this season Johnson served his team imposed "sent to Coventry", and returned a far better player. Mooney didn't bat an eyelid when provoked, his team reaped the benefits.

Could we insert the names Farmer and Solomon here ?. The Farmer situation sounds very similar to Johnson and Soli at times can be a bit like the old Mooney. Please note I rated Soli's season very highly.

Harvey has gouged a line in the sand in relation to team discipline, maybe we are on the same track as that team from Sleepy Hollow.

the difference between geelong last year and us this year, is that geelong had a quality midfield last year which failed to fire. with us this year, we just dont have the talent. other than joshie carr and belly we have no consistent performers, and belly is going to retire, making me think that we will struggle next year, unless schammer, foster, crowley and peak can remain injury free and take more of the load.... i really hope they can

[The Night Shift]

The only omen we should take from Geelong is that they worked as a singualr focused group to acheive their success. The were discliplined and to there credit, when many said they'd choke and all that , they came through and won the cup.
We have to work twice as hard as they did if we even want a chance of success next season....
