That Essendon have two straight byes before coming into finals?

Is this an advantage, as they get two weeks to recover from the most harrowing road trip in football?

Or a disadvantage, as they may not be battle hardened for finals footy?

Boring one sentence summary of all the above posts without a full stop

mmmm

Tulla loves playing finals.....just look at their last "stellar effort":

Friday, 4 September 2009 (8:15 pm) Adelaide 26.10 (166) def. Essendon 10.10 (70).

Whoever plays them in the 1st week will also have the bye.

No - probably not - but someone has to give the weakest kid in the class a game.
I guess the Bombers just lucked out.

Good chance to rest players and try something different I s'pose.

If they were playing a hard team first week in the finals maybe, but likely to be Carltank, so no.

But three byes before the semi's, a bit of a problem.

Mind boggling how the 'best young list' couldn't even clinch 8th spot.....;)

The Bay 13 me says who cares - they'll get pumped regardless.

The main board me says that I wouldn't think it is an ideal preparation to play a high intensity final.

The compassionate me (which I generally show none of to Essendon) says that if ever a side deserved to catch a break to allow their players a chance to freshen up, it is probably them. Had a horrific run this year and a credit to them to still be in the mix.

The Hawthorn me says the same as the Bay 13 me.
