everyone is saying we are going no where.

we have the worst list ever.

where not going to be succesful in a long long time.

and although i doubt we will win a premiership anytime soon.

i dont think the future is looking all that bad.

i mean forget about the older guys.

lets take a look at the young guys that have showed they got game.

foley - we all know this kid loves to play he wants to play and he works damn hard week in week out.

edwards - you can just see when he has the ball something exciting is going to happen. yes he needs to put on some weight. but that can happen with time. his skills will only get better and he will be a top player for us.

connors - just like the two guys ive already mentioned. the first game i saw this kid i could just tell he was going to be something. great size, can run, above average skills and i dunno if you noticed but he has this extra bit of energy about him. when he gets the ball hes straight up and looking for a quick option which is usually a good option. he looks the goods.

deledio - one week you love him the next use all turn on him. he has been disappointing? i agree he has not been as standout as other youngsters at other clubs. however you cannot possibly say he does not have and look the goods to be a superstar of the league?

thursfield - i really think he has what it takes to be one of the best full backs in the league. he is working on his disposal and will have to put on weight. but in the years to come if he doesnt get injured and keeps improving there is no way why he cant be a regular in the backline.

polak - he has been playin the free man at the back so his recignation for being a revelation at the tigers is a bit too much then what he deserves. but if he can be moulded into a man on man defender he too can be one of the top defenders in the years to come.

these are the picks of the bunch but im just trying to say these kids dont look like duds and the future is not so ugly as it is being made out to be.

It's funny to be paid out by supporters of a team that has won 6 whole premierships and none in over 40 years.

As crap as we might be right now we've NEVER been known as the handbaggers.

History says teams that are flying 2/3 of the way through the year don't normally win the premiership. Remember when Port were always dominating but Brisbane always came good right at the end. I've got a feeling Geelong will be winning the same number of premierships as Richmond this year.

But to answer the question, the future's fine as long as we manage the kids properly. Last time we rebuilt (the Daffy / Naish / Maxfield era) we gave kids an armchair ride and they developed bad habits.

Really, this year is paying for the sins of 5 years ago and I defy anyone to say otherwise.

every other team in the league has a bunch of young stars as well as older player, ours are no better so its down to coaching. no coach in the competition has or can find 22 elite player.

I like Connors as a player especially. He has composure, a good left foot and is a good decision maker. He's easily better at the moment than Bowden or Johnson
