  • EXCLUSIVE: GEELONG could be in damage control with another two big names in doubt for tonight's clash against Carlton.
It is believed gun onballer Joel Selwood is highly unlikely to play after struggling through a fitness test at Skilled Stadium today, while mercurial forward Steve Johnson is also under an injury cloud.

if the blokes in my squad of 30 who aren't playing this week played against the ones who are (when all fit) it would be a coin toss.

this is so unbelievable its almost funny.

Oh my ****ing god this is just getting ridiculous.

The most annoying thing is that I'm probably going to lose elimination finals to teams that would be very average in a normal week because they don't have many/any of these Saints and Cats!

Selwood, NDS and Stevie J are not confirmed yet, so everyone cross your fingers. Although usually when news like this is leaked it inevitably comes true.

Blokes in my comp are really only keen on getting into the top 8. But it's when you have weeks like this that being in the top 4 is a huge bonus.

Seeing as your a Carlton fan, i'd assume you would be hoping they were out...haha

Ive actually got both selwood and stevie J, but fotuntaly so does my opponent, and ive got the added benefit of having bench cover for both whereas my opponent doesnt. actually a good thing for me if these 2 miss. :thumbsu:

Hahaha

I'm going for a world record or something.

SJ, Selwood and Dal Santo in doubt now, added to my team of outs including Chapman, Riewoldt, Grimes, Ellis, Ballantyne, Higgins, Gilbert along with Muston and Garlett who can't get a game.

Not even gona bother with trading, can't cover all those 0's.

My opponent has the difficult task of covering Montagna and Harding by bringing in Ablett this week and one other.

I think it will all hinge on who handles Fev. If we get a favourable match up he could kick a bag. With Chapman and Stevie J out that means the Cats will either be relying on Moonie/Hawkins to score or playing GAJ up forward. If they do that without Selwood and Bartel off half-back then we should have a better midfield lineup.

At this point my opponent has 6 out to my five but with bench players leaves me with 3 zeors to his 4 zeros

I have 14 players that are playing this round... Disgusting when 2 weeks ago i scored my highest score of 2416.

My highest rank has been mid 6000's and now it looks like i will drop right out of the 10k really soon if not this round...

Melbourne Tanking? Try Geelong and St Kilda tanking!!!

That's fantastic news :)

So far this round I have lost

Riewoldt, Ballantyne, Goddard, Fisher, Grimes.

Unlikely to play

Dal Santo, Selwood, Steve Johnson

I'm not even going to bother with Supercoach anymore.

Just great. :o

So far I have Goddard, Grimes, Fisher, Selwood, Dal Santo (Maybe), Riewoldt and Stevie J as outs.

Will be playing with 2-4 dounuts. :(

Try on 8 (potentially) for size, JM. That's being completely pessimistic, and factoring in Dal Santo (won't play IMO) & ROK (should play). Some handy names too...

Goddard
Fisher
Riewoldt
Montagna
Selwood
Dal Santo?
SJ?
ROK?
Grimes
Ellis
Higgins
*Also missing my defensive stalwart, Petrenko. :thumbsd:

Desperately need some luck at the selection table. Need Rance & P Burger to both miss, and Jolly to miss also.

arghh!

from a squad of 18, and could now go down to 16! wish there was a link to call a forfeit, save the embarrassment.

OK, this is my theory and pick it to pieces please

I believe that Geelong are willing to throw tonight to allow Carlton more chance of remaining in the 8 for finals thus increasing the chance that the Hawks will miss finals.

I believe that Saints are willing to throw the game against the Hawks to allow them more chance to make the 8 and be a threat to the cats.

What this does is that if Hawks finnish 8th and win their elimination final and Semi final they will play Geelong in the Prelim final and Saints know that the Hawks are the danger team to the Cats. Now the cats may beat the Hawks regardless in the final however we know what damage can come from a physical game against the Hawks to players a week out of the GF. Would fit perfect for the Saints with an easy run through finals footy.

Thoughts to this madness
