We all know we'll win one before either Collingwood or Essendon do, it's just a matter of when :)

it's more important that we get one (or more) before essendon than collingwood.

Oh, come on.

The only way we'll be "back" is if we win a premiership and get it before Essendon do. The only way to truly rub it in their noses and shut them up is to win a flag.

Would much prefer to get there before St.Kilda.

I agree our list is a huge improvement and has the potential to be infinitely much better than the 2005 ...

Really is interesting comparing our 2007 to 2005 lists. Yes, this one is a lot better. Where we came unstuck in 2005, was in defence. Thornton was our only quality KP defender. Livo was good in the preseason cup. And I think both got injured in the early season proper. Karl never progressed. We were hopelessly undermanned in the defensive half, and the opposition just loaded their forwardline with talls. Also our midfields poor defensive skills were found out early. Campo, Stevens and Scotland were all very weak defensively. The other problem area was a lack of midfield rotations. As soon as our main midfielders tired, we got killed in the middle, and our already fragile defense just imploded. 2007 is a whole lot different. First in defence - we are a heap stronger. Setanta is an excellent matchup for the Gorilla FF's, and Waite is the perfect attacking, aggressive CHB. Thornton is now playing where he was always meant to play i.e. HB flank. Walker and Russell provide some height and explosive rebounding pace, something Teague is just incapable of. The midfield is totally different. Campo has been sent to the Essendon near retirement village. We have a much much bigger midfield rotation with lots of quality. Our 2007 list is a lot younger, more talented, faster and taller. :)
