Post-match content is so boring. Win, lose - I don't want to sit around for two and a half days thinking about either result, I want to move on to thinking about the potential of a new result. Not as if people are forced to participate in match threads the moment they open either. I think it's best they go up Monday nights, or Tuesday afternoons at the latest, as not to mention match threads on the weekend are utterly dead as well (you might counter that they wouldn't be if the threads went up later, but I'd counter back that that's the effect of the weekends in general).

To be fair, a number of senior Bomber players seem to be absent...

Do you really want me to quote some of the Bombers' contributions? Like the Bomber who spammed 15 posts in a row this morning, including one post that actually was correcting a typo from the previous post? Or maybe where you inferred a Dragon was a paedophile? Don't throw stones in glass houses...

Let's not make this about the Bombers mate. Thread isn't about us.

There's enough of that in other threads all over the league :thumbsu:

FWIW I'm a full time working parent. Sunday afternoon is 100% the most convenient time for a match thread to go up - it's the sleepiest part of the week and if we move to weekdays I'm either on the way home from work to spend the last hour or so with my kid (plus feed/bath time) and after that it's making dinner and settling down with TV etc. Weeknights are totally inconvenient times for a match to be posted.

As for the footy being on, we play on 42 weeks of the year. The actual footy is only on (generally) for 26 (?) weeks. Most people I'm sure don't watch every match so the only people being inconvenienced on a Sunday afternoon are the people whose teams are playing but it really isn't that hard to keep an eye on a sim during a match or during breaks.

This thread is a whole testament to the phrase "if it ain't broke".

You still a campaigner though ....

So much for encouraging contributions
Contributions are fine but you're suggesting overlapping match threads. Honestly that is one of the strangest ideas I've heard on this board. Some people don't get to see their match until late Sunday into Monday. The last thing people want is to bounce into a new match thread before they've even finished the old one.

Dear SFA,

I hope you are all holding up well in these "unprecedented" times. Banding together as a community and of course wearing your ******* masks!

It is time for me to address a few things that have been on my mind. I am struggling to afford the $270 an hour sessions with TheCoach16 so here it is for all of the SFA folk.

KohPhi first brought this up and is a big advocate and I have to say over the past couple of seasons I am now on board.

We need to make some changes to freshen the SFA up.

Over the past few seasons this has continued to creep in the wrong direction and it is time to restructure the SFA week. We need to push the posting of the match threads to Wednesday. Putting them up on a Monday just turns it into a very long winded exercise. It means we have 7 days of match thread "banter" and it is far too much to fill.

If we started them on a Wednesday it would then give the Monday and Tuesday for post match discussion, stats and also the chance for media to get a look in. In addition it gives posters a chance to catch their breath after 5 days of banter to reload for the next game.

There seems to be a rush to get the match threads up nowadays and I for one feel it is cheapening a great part of the SFA.

Get behind me SFA, apparently if we get 10 "yes" votes this will be put in place.

Tony xoxo.
Voice of reason! Every time!
TL, honestly, you should run this joint. And when you speak, these dullards need to listen!

By the way, if the fees are getting too much for you, I’m sure we can “work something out”...

If you know what I mean.

Tuesday night- Wednesday morning sounds ok

Here’s the thing though, do people realise they can pick and choose when they post? Just because a match thread is up monday-sunday (should be tuesday start anyway) doesn’t mean you have to post every one of those days.
Says the guy who chooses to respond to every tag, and then complains about being involved in a thread.

Threadban people once they hit 150 posts in a match thread. Might make some give their posts some thought instead of just spewing mindless drivel.

As opposed to the irrelevant posters that put up 30 posts of irrelevant shit yeah?

An alternate idea would be to post the games on Friday. Let the post-match digestion occur over the deader period.

150 opportunities to call you a campaigner.

Worth sitting out a few days :thumbsu:

Glad the concept of a quota has already made you put thought into improving your posting. 👍

I like it.
