Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

Disrespectful to the Club. What bunkum. The AFC board and executive will not accept any scrutiny at all. I am seriously considering giving up my 23 year membership next year. I can't justify continuing to support this organisation that treats its members with contempt.

Maybe try ringing Roo on MMM and get his opinion as to whther we have a legitimate right to protest.

Also, i looked on the adelaidenow website, does anyone have Rucci's email address, i couldn't find a thing on there.
get him on twitter perhaps?

Fixed it for ya ;)

That'd be a good test of Roo's independence... given he's on the board now.

So - you want to make attacks on individuals and somehow you're the victim?

This just seems really petty to me.

I'm not a victim. I refuse to be a victim or labelled a victim. This is a legitimate request to an organisation, concerning what I can put on a banner to express my displeasure. The fact that some of the response are... Kafkaesque? is a reflection of the organisations, not me for asking the questions.

Perhaps it is petty. But the point stands, dissenting views are not welcome at the Oval, whether it be by the SMA or the AFC (or both, while claiming it's the others rules, whatever). This club treats its members like customers. Normally as a customer, I can choose to take my business elsewhere. I can swap from Telstra to Virgin, Woolworths to Coles. But in no ****ing way am I changing football clubs. These 'men' running our club have run it into the ground, and although I'm a member I can't say or do anything about it.

My only other idea for a sign that I can use, is "10th and Loving It!" or some other ridiculous notion.

Or maybe "Everything Is Awesome!"

Who is this clown? Hasn't he heard of proof reading? Where's Vader?

I did see that and I did think immediately of Vader too!

I would suggest he's a petty functionary of the SMA who got send an email and told, "some idiot is complaining about a sign, send him an email and get rid of him, then get on with your real work"

I think you have too much time on your hands :D

Everyone needs a hobby ;)

As I posted earlier if your banner was "Resign Trigg & Chapman" in your red paint you could then use yellow paint for a - between the e & s you should be good to go.

And if you go another banner could you put it up at a set time so we can have a look before it is taken down.

For example this week is a 1:10 start, how about at 12:45 (don't want to compete against the teams running out).

Also didn't like the comment from the AFC that it "was certainly disrespectful to the club", IMO you were having a crack at the 2 individuals - they are not the club. (by their actions/inactions they certainly think they are)

They could have said "we deem it inappropriate for banners to be critical of employees/representatives of the club to be flown at games"

THey are again hiding behind the fact that if you criticise them you are dumping on the club, you can still love the club and be critical of the buffoons currently in charge.

As their new janitor??

I reckon it is Chapman just "leaking" this tripe to Rucci/crows ambassadors in the media so it looks like Trigg is "hot property".

If they are only needing someone to simply come in to run the club for a couple of years on cruise control then Trigg is fine.

well, we're all petty in here. won't matter to you soon because attacking triggy is attacking the club, meaning that triggy is the club. sounds like a few people on these boards might be following the blue-baggers soon enough. although, i'll believe it whens I sees it.

I honestly believe Trigg will leave us during the off-season, not based on any inside info just a gut feeling (sorry guys:p). I've got this suspicion that a deal was struck between Trigg and the board where Trigg agreed to keep quiet about the board's knowledge of the Tippett side agreement and in exchange they agreed to accept him back only to see him leave some time afterwards of his own 'free will'. At least that's what I'm getting from the board room minutes suggesting that the board knew more than they were letting on, as well as the recent comments about Trigg being on the "back nine" of his time at the club. From Trigg's perspective a small suspension looks far better than a sacking when he finally moves on, and the board will get to use him as a quasi scapegoat by focusing on the next CEO as part of some kind of new hope/direction for the club, thereby trying to win back the supporters who have become disenchanted with them of late.

It was looking like triggs tenure was becoming finite and that gave me a comfortable feeling. But lately, there's been so much chatter regarding him moving on that I'm starting to wonder. Seriously, every other day it seems as though trigg has another equivalent job stitched up. I have this horrible feeling that we will end up with a press release along the lines of;

The adelaide football club is pleased to announce that we have managed to secure the services of our current CEO, Mr Steven Trigg, for a further 4 years. There has been much media coverage linking Mr Trigg to many other positions. Securing Mr Trigg's signature is a cornerstone of building the foundations of our next premiership. Many of our customers don't understand that Mr Trigg brings with him the complete skill base required to manage a successful AFL club. Off the top of my head;
St Peters College Student
SANFL player
St Peters College Teacher (PE & Geography) taught 1970crow to a pes 17 in geography, so can't be all bad.
Marketing person at an SANFL club
Communications Manager at the AFC (currently described as GM of Communications)
Coach of an SANFL club. Did I get the order wrong?

We, the AFC (not you) consider ourselves to be exceptionally lucky that we have been able to head off the suitors for Mr Trigg, as we did with Brent Reilly, and managed to secure his services for this contract period. Having brokered the deal and managed the logistical challenges of our move to AO on a near break-even deal and only partially having begun to review the mechanics of it, it is vital to our club, that Mr Trigg completes that process. It is important for our customers to understand that this contract is a significant investment in the future success of our beloved football club.

Whilst this is a joyous moment for our club, it's important that we take heed of another viewpoint. After all, we are an inclusive club. And I'd like to address those that are concerned with the direction and management of the club? What I'd like to say is that deaneus , if you pull that shit again, that'll be the end of you.

Thank you all, no questions thanks. Sorry, Rowie, Dillon, you get four each.

The chapster, yoll!

Without even getting into whether the sign disrespects the club, I'm not entirely sure why I'm not allowed to disrespect a football club at a football match.

This is very very bad business. There's only so long you can scold and talk down to your customers before something happens, like... you know... they stop being customers.

He's not attacking anyone.

This is a disgraceful attitude by the SMA, and the AFC. The attempts to paint it as disrespectful and an attack on the Club, is pathetic.

Neither Chapman nor Trigg is bigger than the Club - something they've clearly forgotten.

Do a Chapman for Baghdad sign.
