Does anybody here use it?

I only download from the store when there are certain torrents I can't find or for some reason take forever to download.

Today I bought:

Sydonia - (Man)ipulate EP
Sydonia - Sorry EP
Miles Davis - A Tribute To Jack Johnson
Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool
Trophy Scars - Hospital Music for the Aesthetics of Language EP

Aso If anybody knows where I can find a good torrent of King Crimson's Larkes Tongues In Aspic could they direct me to it?

If I have a bit of spare cash, I always purchase two albums a week from the itunes store. Fast downloads and wide variety are the two reasons that set it far apart from any other music store available in Australia. (i.e the rest are shit).

rarely, 95% of the time i can find a good torrent

ive only ever used the iTunes store just to try it, as my lil cousin didnt know how to use the itunes gift cards and gave it to me:)

i bought the music video for Warren G - Regulate (had i known it was a clean version i woulda bought something else)

and 3 games for my iPod classic, which is useless now coz everytime i try to play a game on my ipod, it freezes... so sick of little hi-tech gadgets that fk around like this

Last FM radio used to be good, but it went to shit when the available song list was severely culled.

Yep it was brilliant and the worst thing is, it used to be free =(.

They really need to hurry up and bring Spotify down here.

yeah it does suck that acutally. cant believe they were going to make it free to the uk and us users and make everyone else pay! Shame i didnt take advantage whilst it was free. ha.

Spotify? havent heard of this one before. up the same alley as last.fm and pandora?

Very simular concept except you can choose the songs IIRC. I created an account using a proxy some time ago, but the account only lasted a week or two before it was shut down.

It's good for previewing 30 seconds of the song. Really helps you determine what kind of sound the band has and if you'd like to have a deeper listen to them (i.e. torrents).

I never pay for it (except for my friend's band once as a joke as they had 0 sales) as I need the cover, I don't like having nothing to show for it. I like reading liner notes too and even if you are given it in digital form it's not the same. If I can't find it in JB I just order the cds of the net, usually directly from the label depending on their shipping prices.

I can usually always find a torrent or a download unless it's completely obscure (see local bands).

I've been using it on and off the last 2 months or so (get into it whenever coles/woolworths have 15 - 30% off the gift cards every few weeks).

It's not bad, however i COULD do a better job of ripping the cd's to my hdd in 320kb format (i do it for some, but not all as my cd/dvd drive is not the best).

I've also been using Bigpond Music lately, a lot of their conversions have made the original music sound like it is being played underwater  - some of them are obvious WMA to MP3 conversion jobs (which is c-r-a-p).

DRM has been gone for a few months now.

Itunes is handy for me to the horrible lack of a Jb Hifi in Bunbury.

Bigpond has so little range it isn't worth the money to buy the cards. I got a $50 card as a birthday present and struggled to spend it on something worthwhile.

When I scratched the covering of an iTunes card ($30), it took out some of the code as well.

Can I take it back to the retailer for a replacement? Card was activated in the store, but not redeemed on iTunes. Can they check?

I've had an iPod and used the iTunes program for a while, but I've never used the iTunes music store, because I don't have a credit card. Is it possible to register on there and use an iTunes card to purchase something without having to give credit card details? I'm thinking of purchasing an iTunes card in order to get Pop Crimes by Rowland S. Howard, as I can't find the CD in stores (JB doesn't seem have it at all) and can't find any torrents for it.

Yeah, you just buy the card and redeem it in the store.

Ok, thanks :thumbsu: It'd be good if albums in the iTunes store were of more uniform prices. Just having a browse, they seem to make the prices in odd amounts in comparison to the iTunes card denominations that are available, so you'll always have a couple of dollars left over (if you don't want to purchase a random single) or be just short with what you want to purchase. I suppose that's how they get you into using your credit card instead, just to make it easier, eh? :p

I bought a couple of albums last nite.

Burst - Prey on Life
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsys
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Thrice - The Artist In The Ambulance
Thrice - Come All You Weary EP
Thrice - Beggars

Funny that Bomb The Music Industry's albums are sold for $16.99 each when their own record label (Quote Unquote Records) releases them for free (with an option to donate, recommended $5USD) on thier website.

Seriously?

I might go download some then.
