Just read in the herald sun that if Rocca is out next week which looks highly then MM said that " he would persevere with the experiment that failed in last year's Grand Final – replacing him at centre half-forward with Jason Cloke.I will play him at centre half-forward just to demonstrate he can play there,"

Please don't, I mean surely there are far better options such as Fraser perhaps now that Richards has improved. If Richards gets tired then get C.CLoke into the ruck so that Fraser can stay at CHF. But we have seen time and time again that J.Cloke is not a frikkin forward.

I hope he meant his brother, who actually CAN play forward! Jason is a ******* in the forward line. Why persist with him?

I mean, FFS, in about 4 games, Cameron has already kicked more goals than Jason has in 3 years.

If this is true, you idiot Mick.

Well Mick is right to have played Jason in the forward line and i too think he is capable of good things down there, with a little work. But he is a true defender and IMO was BOG last night and held our defence together. the defence was superb, why change it, i ask? Why Mick? Not against the DEES Mick!!!

Cam is becoming a really good player and is performing under pressure, he should be an autmatic replacement at CHF, he played more than half the game there last night. I think it'll be Cam that gets the gig.

Mick doesnt like to be wrong and i dont think he is wrong in suggesting that Jason can play CHF, but the hard fact says that he just doesnt have any interest in playing the role in the forward line.

Come on Mick,
Jason Cloke has played some shockers this year, retaining 3 worst ons by Triple M coverage, all games he played at CHF!

His game last night was FANTASTIC! His game against Adelaide was TERRIFIC! Why? Because he was playing a defensive role and everybody else (not only Collingwood supporters) KNOW that Jason Cloke is not a forward.

MICK MALTHOUSE QUOTES "Yes, he will play there (if Rocca is out), I will play him at centre half-forward just to demonstrate he can play there,"

The first time he played there was Rnd 15 v Geelong, 2002 - a game we lost and Mooney and Kent Kingsley dominated as did Steve Johnson in the forward line. To lose by 5 goals.
From memory Jason has played in the forward line on 8 occasions throughout his career, winning 1 game which was against the Bulldogs in Round 2, 2004. He did nothing as it was anyway.

I agree with guess_who Jason is not a forward so y play him there we have players who can play there so play them if Jason wants to show he can play in the forward line play him at Williamstown not in a senior game and especially not against Melbourne

Was actually Clement who held the backline together last night, 14 marks, 25 disposals, marshalled the troops beautifully. Cloke was back to his spoiling best, took some good contested grabs on the last line. Couple of times he blazed away with disposal with no composure, even though he had the time to take a few steps and some up his options. Good game though, all in all.

Anyway I think Cam or Josh will start at CHF with Jason a floating backman to cut off the likes of Neitz (Wakelin) and Robertson (Clement). He was able to play a bit of free man last night, a mistake by the Eagles there.

Clement took 14 marks,

10-12 of them were probably in the "chip-around" gameplan!

Cloke was courageous and brilliant and worthy, maybe more worthy than Clement.

It better be tongue in the damn cheek, coz otehrwise hes just damn stupid, if he hasnt realised it yet he shouldn't be an AFL coach.

But, if anyone is gonna replace Rocca it should definatly be Cloke.. of the Cameron kind.

Couageous, yes as always...brilliant, no. Thats not a word associated with J Cloke. Liked his game though.

Malthouse clearly had a game plan didnt he? 131 marks is an insane number and Clement was the instrumental one in executing it while the Eagles put a massive flood on. If they are gonna flood like that, then we need someone in the backline to "general" the troops and chip it around til we get the opening. Jimmy was the one who did this with help from Wakelin and was clearly the man holding the back half together.

COME ON

Jason Cloke played his best game of the year to date, I would be amazed to see the amount of spoils on the stat sheet let alone 8 marks, probably 3-5 contested.

Gosh, yeah he was good but geez your pumping him a fair bit. I thought that Lica, Taz and Clement were better the J.Cloke on the night. Cole was good to on Matera. As was Shaw after coming on early in the second Q

The backline has been brilliant in recent weeks. There is no way that Mick will change the structure, even if Presti is OK to play.

Best bet is that Josh and C2 will play CHF between them. You never know, Presti might come in and play there... ;)
